Alito says there’s no perfect time to step down after retirement rumors

Rumors had swirled in August after NPR published and then retracted an article claiming that Alito would be retiring at the conclusion of the court’s 2025-26 term. The conservative justice told CBS News that retirement was on the table this year, but decided to stay and revisit the possibility next year.
