Air Force Mysteriously Removes Six Leaders At Nuclear Base

The U.S. Air Force Six leaders were relieved from their positions at the North Dakota nuclear base, but they did not provide any details as to why.

A short press release stated that Maj. Gen. Andrew J. Gebara was the commander of 8th Air Force and removed two commanders who were in their leadership posts at Minot Air Force Base on Monday.

The commanders at the base also relieved four subordinate officers of duty. However, the 8th Air Force statement does not give any details regarding the circumstances of their departure. To protect their privacy, the 8th Air Force did not provide further details.

“These personnel actions were necessary to maintain the very high standards we demand of those units entrusted with supporting our Nation’s nuclear mission,” Gebara made the statement in a statement issued by the 8th Air Force.

“Eighth Force continues to safeguard global combat power and conduct around-the-clock strategic deterrence operations in a safe, secure and effective manner,” Gebara added. “Our mission is foundational to our Nation’s defense, and we remain committed to the success of that no-fail mission.”

Minot Air Force Base opened in 1957. It is home to several wings and squadrons.

“Minot AFB is the only dual-wing nuclear capable base in the Air Force, hosting two legs of the Strategic Triad,” According to the Base’s mission statement. “The 5th Bomb Wing operates 26 B-52 aircraft, and the 91st Missile Wing operates 150 ICBM sites.”

In 2007, six nuclear warheads attached to cruise missiles were misplaced on a flight from Louisiana to the base. This led to a lot of investigations and many officers. Being relieved of duty.
