A.J. Brown Says if Eagles Don’t Re-Sign Jalen Hurts: “Ship Me off Wherever He’s Going To”

The dynamic duo Jalen Hurts/AJ Brown combined to provide some spectacular, on-field action during the Philadelphia Eagles’ thrilling sprint to Super Bowl LVII. The quarterback and his primary receiver were two of the most important components of an offense that was often unstoppable in 2022.

They were just a few points away from winning the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy. But, there is hope in The City of Brotherly Love. Hurts-Brown’s youthful team is not only a formidable combination on the field but also very entertaining to watch. With the flick of an eyelash, they can come together to bring out the best in Philly fans. They should both be back in the postseason.

The Eagles’ only hope of making Hurts and Brown a perennial contender is keeping them together. Brown, 25, signed a four year, $100 million contract last year with the Eagles and now wants his signal caller to be secure for the long term.

AJ Brown appealed to the Eagles to sign Jalen HUTS, saying that he is open to playing wherever the quarterback plays.

“You gotta pay, bro,” Brown stated this on the Raw Room podcast Tuesday “I love Philly. What I’m about to say … You do not pay this man, just ship me off wherever he’s going to go. So, you talk about pressure, Howie, get it done.”

Brown was referring to Howie Roseman (Eagles General Manager), who will be responsible for keeping one of the most successful players in the NFL financially happy.

It looks increasingly like the deal is close to being completed as of press time. Philadelphia doesn’t have an exact picture of how much money can be spent or the amount available for extensions and free agents, until the Hurts contract is completed. They will work to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Multiple reports claim that Hurts will be offered a $45-$50 million annual deal. This would include a huge signing bonus, which would give Hurts enough money to match his Eagles uniform. This would also give Philly stability at the most crucial position on the field. Long-term salary caps are also available. A done deal is win-win for everyone.

Many fans expect Hurts to announce his new contract soon, as both sides are likely to reach an agreement quickly. This should make Hurts, as well as his wide receiver AJ Brown, very happy moving forward.
