Ilhan Omar tells reporter to ‘f*** off’ when asked about Democratic support for Abrego Garcia

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) faced controversy when she told a reporter to “f*** off” in response to a question regarding Democratic support for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member deported to El Salvador. Teh exchange occurred after a Daily Caller reporter asked about the appropriateness of Democratic representatives traveling to meet abrego Garcia, who is incarcerated in El Salvador. Omar’s response escalated the situation, with her reiterating the profanity when pressed for clarification. The visits by several democrats, including Sen. Chris Van hollen and Reps.Yassamin Ansari, Maxine Dexter, and Maxwell Frost, have drawn criticism from both Republicans and some Democrats. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has avoided direct comments on whether these trips were a “mistake.” The Trump management previously deported Abrego Garcia despite a court order protecting him from such action due to threats he faced in El Salvador, and recent Supreme Court rulings have mandated efforts to facilitate his return to the U.S.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) told a reporter to “f*** off” when asked about Democratic support for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 gang member who was deported to El Salvador

A Daily Caller reporter asked Omar if she thought it was appropriate for Democrats to travel to El Salvador to meet with Abrego Garcia, who is being detained in a Salvadoran prison.

“I think you should f*** off,” Omar said. She repeated the profanity when asked for clarification.

So far, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Reps. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), Maxine Dexter (D-OR), and Maxwell Frost (D-FL) have traveled to El Salvador to show support for Abrego Garcia.

While these trips have drawn criticism from Republicans and even Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) has dodged questions about whether he thinks the visits were a “mistake.”

A spokesperson for Jeffries told the New York Post that reports of him telling caucus members to “slow down” in showing support for Abrego Garcia are “patently false.”

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM TRUMP’S MASS DEPORTATION PLAN

The Trump administration deported Abrego Garcia on March 15 to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center, violating a standing court order that protected Abrego Garcia from deportation to the country due to a gang threat he faced there. A government lawyer wrote in a court filing that Abrego Garcia’s deportation was an “administrative error.”

The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration must “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s return to the United States, setting new deadlines on Wednesday for the administration to show evidence of its efforts to return him to the country.
