According to an AP-NORC poll, 77 percent of Americans believe that President Joe Biden, who is three years younger than Pelosi, is unable to “effectively serve” for another four years due to his age. Similarly, a CBS News poll found that 73 percent of Americans believe there should be a maximum age cap for elected officials.
Pelosi has been a vocal defender of her aging Democratic colleagues. She recently spoke out against calls for 90-year-old California Senator Dianne Feinstein to retire, suggesting that such demands are rooted in sexism. Reports have indicated that Feinstein is experiencing mental decline. Pelosi has also criticized conservatives who question Biden’s fitness for the presidency due to his age, dismissing such concerns and referring to Biden as a ”kid.”
