A⁤ man ⁢was tragically found dead on Monday after a distressing incident ⁤that ‍occurred near former President Barack Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard estate. The⁤ incident took‌ place in Edgartown ​Great Pond, ⁣just yards away from the former⁤ president’s home.

According to reports, the man, who ⁢was paddleboarding in the pond, was seen struggling to stay afloat before disappearing beneath ⁣the water’s surface. Multiple witnesses, ⁣including another paddleboarder, witnessed the incident.

Rescue teams, including the Coast ⁤Guard, the Edgartown Fire Department, and⁢ the Dukes County Sheriff’s Department, had been searching for the missing man since Sunday. After several hours of searching, the body of the missing person‌ was tragically found.

Efforts to Locate⁣ the Missing Paddleboarder

The search operation⁣ involved dive teams, flight crews, and⁣ other responders equipped with sonar equipment‌ and boats. ‌Despite their efforts, the search was initially unsuccessful, and the ⁣operation was ⁢paused to reassess⁤ the next steps.

The search resumed with the involvement of marine assets, such as divers and boat crews using side-scan⁤ sonar, as well as aerial support from the Massachusetts State Police and US‍ Coast Guard ‌helicopter crews. The Massachusetts Environmental Police and the MSP Underwater Recovery Unit‌ also joined⁤ the search operation.

A Dispatcher’s Call and Ongoing Investigation

The incident was reported to local police through a dispatcher’s call regarding a possible drowning. The investigation into ⁣the incident is ⁤ongoing.
