1,400 Facts Support Attempt to Block Biden, Others From ‘Colluding’ With Big Tech

A federal judge has been asked by a historic free speech case to stop federal officials continuing to commit crimes. “some of the most egregious First Amendment violations in American history.”

The March 6th hearing was held by attorneys representing President Joe Biden against various federal agencies. They cited 1,442 facts to support their request for a preliminary order.

“The proof of this sprawling federal ‘Censorship Enterprise’ is voluminous and overwhelming,” According to a court filing dated March 6, (pdf). “This enterprise is highly effective—it has stifled debate and criticism of government policy on social media about some of the most pressing issues of our time.”

At minimum 67 officials and agencies They are accused of telling companies such as Twitter, Google and Facebook to stop spreading misinformation.

Nationwide Impact Expands

Andrew Bailey from Missouri and Jeff Landry from Louisiana claim that Big Tech employees were pressured by federal officials. “to censor speakers and viewpoints on social media that the federal officials disfavor.”

Court records reveal that both discussions of the COVID-19 epidemic and Hunter’s laptop were heavily censored.

Bailey and Landry claim that the case has a profound impact on all Americans.

“This case is the most important free-speech lawsuit in a generation,” Bailey stated in an interview that Bailey was a news release. “I will not rest until the court blocks unelected bureaucrats from violating our constitutional right to free and open debate.”

Landry made a remark about the “egregious and unlawful viewpoint censorship by the White House,” Along with many other agencies, including the FBI.

The Epoch Times asked for comments from the White House but they did not immediately respond. But attorneys representing the accused agencies will get to argue against the allegations in a hearing, for which Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana, Monroe, will set a date.

Depositions: Revelations

U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) served as Missouri’s Attorney General when Landry and he launched the suit in May 2022.

The suit Missouri v. Biden, asks Doughty to declare that the defendants’ conduct violates free-speech protections in federal and state constitutions and to bar them from such actions.

Doughty directed federal agencies last July to be reorganized cooperate and respond Requests for information or depositions are welcome.

Since then, evidence has been collected. “a direct, blatant, and brazen coordination between the federal government and social media companies,” Schmitt spoke during the Conservative Political Action Conference’s March 2 speech.

“On one occasion, a senior Facebook official … pledged to censor speech on COVID-19 more stringently,” Schmitt added that the Department of Health and Human Services was dissatisfied and said Schmitt would respond. “government agents had special portals to report posts they disagreed with quickly.”

He stated that Dr. Anthony Fauci (a former director of federal health agencies) was recently under oath regarding his actions during COVID-19. “The takeaway from that deposition was: When Fauci speaks, Big Tech censors,” Schmitt said. “This can never happen again, and not on my watch.”

Schmitt claimed that FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan confessed to Schmitt in his depositions that the FBI held monthly and weekly meetings during the month leading up the 2020 election with social media firms.

These meetings were a warning to the FBI: Russians wanted to publish false information. It was possible that Hunter Biden had accessed startling data on a laptop.

“They were priming the social media companies to be ready to censor when the story inevitably came out,” Schmitt said.

Schmitt claimed that the FBI still had the laptop. “They knew it was real and authentic. And yet they held these meetings anyways,” Schmitt said. “And the social media companies were all too happy to carry out their orders. That is pure and utter insanity.”

When Schmitt ended his presentation with this note, he received a standing ovation from the CPAC crowd. “We can either roll over and let Biden’s weaponized federal agencies, woke corporations, and Big Tech companies dictate what we say and what we do, or we can stand up, and we can fight back for the freedoms that so many have shed blood for.”

He made the following promise: “I won’t back down. I won’t be silenced. I won’t be intimidated. This is the fight. Let’s win it together.”

The Goal of Lawsuit

The suit seeks permanently to stop government agents from inducing any social media company. “to censor, suppress, de-platform, suspend, shadow-ban, de-boost, restrict access to content, or take any adverse action against any speaker, content or viewpoint.”

Dan Schneider, Vice President of Free Speech America said he recollects the 1996 Congress discussion on the Communications Decency Act. “I kept on hearing people in the hallway say, ‘We have to nurture and protect the internet while it’s in its infancy,” Schneider made these comments during the March 2 CPAC panel about Big Tech.

This concern was absurd to him. “What’s the role of government in trying to tip the scales for one particular industry?” He asked.

But Congress passed Section 230, which provides special protections to social media platforms for the content they create.

Big Tech is Now “gargantuan,” He stated. “The four largest publicly traded corporations in world history are Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. Never before has the world seen corporations with such size and strength and power.”

He said that the market capitalization for these four companies is $8.67 trillion. This amount surpasses those of any of the 197 nations in the world.

“Are they little infants that need our protection?” Schneider. “Because right now, if you don’t like your doctor or your accountant or your car, you can sue. But you can’t sue these guys because they’re ‘in their infancy,’ and they have to be ‘nurtured and protected.'”
