Boat Captain and Immigrants Detained After Dramatic Collision
A thrilling incident unfolded off the coast of Florida when a boat captain and 14 immigrants on board his vessel were apprehended after colliding with another boat. The dramatic collision occurred near the Jupiter Inlet, involving a boat belonging to the esteemed Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.
“When making contact, the boat’s captain rammed our unit, damaging two engines. Our PBSO Helicopter and additional marine unit vessels pursued the suspect vessel,”
The boat captain skillfully beached the vessel just north of the Juno pier, but his escape was short-lived as he was immediately apprehended by a team of dedicated road patrol deputies and Jupiter police officers. Currently, 14 immigrants have been detained and will be turned over to Border Patrol, marking a significant step in maintaining border security. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a police officer, a first-degree felony in Florida that carries a minimum sentence of five years.
