100 Days, Attacks, Protests, And An Alleged Assassination Attempt Later, The Supreme Court Leaker Remains Unknown

More than 100 days have passed since a draft Supreme Court document leaked indicating that Roe v. Wade would be overturned, and authorities have still not uncovered the leaker’s identity.

That leak prompted protests across the nation, accompanied by an alleged assassination attempt on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, as well as attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers and Catholic churches.

It is widely believed that the leak was intended to intimidate justices. Chief Justice John Roberts, who directed the marshal of the court to launch an investigation into the leaker the day after the May 2 leak, stated that the move was intended to “undermine the integrity of our operations.”

“It will not succeed,” he added.

Charles Stimson, senior legal fellow at the Heritage Foundation and deputy director of the Edwin Meese III Center, told The Daily Wire on Wednesday that most experts are operating under the assumption that the leaker has not been conclusively identified.

“One would think that the chief, who cares about the institutional integrity of the court, would, if anything surfaced of note, make that public,” he added.

The Daily Wire has repeatedly pressed the court as to what stage its investigation is at and whether the leaker has been identified. A spokeswoman for the Supreme Court has not addressed these requests for comment.

“Given that protestors have intimidated and harassed the justices at their homes for the last 100 days, with an assassination attempt against Justice Kavanaugh, ​finding the leaker should be a top priority for the Chief Justice,” Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino said on Wednesday.

“The Dobbs leak has inflicted significant damage on the Court and letting it fade from memory unresolved is unacceptable,” she added.
