Youngkin criticizes Biden’s claim of being the ‘education president’ as delusional.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin Slams First Lady Jill Biden’s Claim About President Biden’s Education Record

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) strongly criticized first lady Jill Biden’s assertion that President Joe Biden is “America’s education president” on Wednesday, calling it delusional. In an interview with Fox News, Youngkin expressed his disbelief, stating, “Well, I hate to say that I think she may be the only person who believes that. I think the vast majority of Americans believe that Joe Biden has so undersupported and underprepared our kids for what we’re dealing with.”

The Impact of Biden’s Policies on Education

Youngkin pointed out that the extended closure of schools, which he attributed to President Biden’s unnecessary decision, has resulted in an unprecedented learning loss across the nation. He emphasized that this has caused decades of progress to be lost, with fourth graders in Virginia experiencing the largest decline in math and English proficiency.

“We are working hard to close that gap,” Youngkin stated. “It is a huge effort. We need more teachers. We need more specialized help. We have micro grants now for Virginia’s kids. We are working hard to reestablish excellence and expectations and give kids the kind of support they need.”

Contrary to Jill Biden’s claim, Youngkin emphasized that President Biden has not been the “education president” as perceived by the majority of Americans.

The Influence of Teachers Unions

Youngkin also criticized President Biden for appeasing teachers unions to the extent that they have forgotten who children truly belong to. He firmly stated, “The kids belong to parents. Not to the state, not to politicians. They belong to parents.”
