Woke narcissism has the power to destroy everything, including the pure joy of innocence. But when that destruction occurs, there is immense satisfaction in witnessing the joy being renewed through an act of defiance.
A 9-Year-Old Chiefs Fan Stands Strong
On “Jesse Watters Primetime” this Wednesday, a 9-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fan, accompanied by his father, made a bold decision to continue wearing black and red face paint that had triggered full-grown adults and sparked accusations of racism.
Holden Armenta, the young fan, had painted his face in the Chiefs’ team colors and proudly wore a Native American costume headdress while cheering his favorite team to victory. He even had the opportunity to take pictures with Raiders cheerleaders and engage in the Chiefs’ celebratory “tomahawk chop” gesture with some of the players.
However, the woke bogeyman emerged from its online lair to squash all happiness. Leftist sports media outlets, including Deadspin, accused Holden of racism, causing an uproar.
Defying the Woke Bullies
But Holden’s story took an unexpected turn when his mother revealed that their family has Native American heritage. This revelation added a layer of irony and exposed the audacity of the woke media’s accusations.
Holden and his father appeared on Watters’ show, where they proudly asserted their right to wear whatever they want. Despite the overwhelming attention and cancel-culture mob targeting them, they remained defiant.
Standing Strong in the Face of Scrutiny
Holden’s father expressed his frustration with the damage caused by the unwarranted scrutiny but emphasized that his son is simply a 9-year-old boy supporting his team. They have received both support and criticism from various tribal members, but they refuse to back down.
In the end, nothing can erase the fact that Phillips and Deadspin targeted a young boy for supporting his team. Their actions exemplify the epitome of woke narcissism. But Holden Armenta and countless other Chiefs fans will continue to proudly wear their face paint and headdresses, because they have the right to do so.
