Ari Fleischer slams WH’s ‘gibberish’ spin on cocaine story: ‘You must be joking’
Former White House Press Secretary Calls Out “Gibberish” Response to Cocaine Discovery
Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer didn’t hold back in criticizing the response from the White House regarding the recent discovery of cocaine in the West Wing. Fleischer, who served under former President George W. Bush, pointed out the inconsistencies between initial reports and subsequent updates, particularly regarding the location where the “white powdery substance” was found.
Initial reports stated that the suspicious substance was discovered in the residence’s library, with field tests indicating it was likely cocaine. However, Fleischer expressed disbelief when it was revealed that cocaine had been found at the White House, but authorities were not disclosing the exact location. He urged reporters to do their job and investigate whether it was found in the Old Executive Office Building or the mansion, which would suggest different implications.
You have got to be kidding me. Cocaine was found at the WH and authorities aren’t saying exactly where it was found. If it’s the Old Executive Office Building, it’s likely staff. If it’s the mansion, it’s likely Hunter.

Follow-up reports revealed that the substance was actually found in a West Wing “work area,” although the specific location remained undisclosed. Fleischer immediately questioned this vague description, calling it “gibberish.” He emphasized that, apart from certain areas like the WH Mess and bathrooms, the entire West Wing is a work area. He demanded to know the exact office or room where the cocaine was found.
What gibberish. A West Wing “work area”? With the exception of the WH Mess and the bathrooms, the entire West Wing is a work area. Where exactly was the cocaine found? In whose office? In the Sit Room? In the private office next to the Oval?
Where?

President Joe Biden, after delivering remarks on education, walked off stage as reporters bombarded him with questions about the cocaine discovery.

Amidst the shock of confirming that the substance was indeed cocaine, NBC White House Correspondent Mike Memoli suggested that the small bag may have been left behind by a visitor to the White House. He explained that the area where it was found is frequently used by visitors, who may be asked to leave personal belongings before entering more sensitive parts of the West Wing.
