On November 10, the 246 anniversary of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USMC\/status\/1458434273078386696\">inception<\/a> of the United States Marine Corps, they learned live on<em> Good Morning America<\/em> that Veterans United Home Loans paid their entire mortgage.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"3.92\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Happy 246th Birthday <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Marines?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Marines<\/a>! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rtuGCc8zzE\">pic.twitter.com\/rtuGCc8zzE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 U.S. Marines (@USMC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USMC\/status\/1458434273078386696?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Good Morning America<\/em> reporter Rob Marciano showed up outside their new home in the early morning, along with 50 of the family\u2019s closest friends and new neighbors. Accompanying the large group of friends and neighbors were a local high school marching band and a Junior Reserve Officers\u2019 Training Corps (JROTC).<\/p>\n<p>The couple, still unaware that their home had been paid for, watched as Marciano began to tear up a copy of their mortgage. \u201cThat\u2019s no good anymore because Veterans United Home Loans has paid off your home,\u201d the reporter announced.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mario and Amy embraced one another as emotion overcame them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t even know what to say,\u201d Amy said while wiping tears of joy away from her eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unreal, to even think that, I mean, never would have thought of anything like this \u2014 I\u2019m out of words,\u201d Mario stated.<\/p>\n<p>The couple had been through a trying process while looking for a home in the current market.<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=iFoIrAAXTEo&#038;start=1&#038;feature=oembed\">https:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=iFoIrAAXTEo&amp;start=1&amp;feature=oembed<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you saw a house that popped up for sale, there was 70 people lined up to see this house and there were people that were putting tens of thousands of dollars more over the asking price, so it was tough,\u201d Mario stated, according to<em> Good Morning America<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Johnson, a friend of Mario\u2019s and a fellow Marine, says that Mario embodies the values of the United States Marine Corps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarine Corps values: Honor, courage, and commitment. The hard thing is to live by it, and that\u2019s one thing that Mario has done,\u201d Johnson told <em>Good Morning America<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Veterans United Home Loans is providing 11 veterans with homes in honor of Veterans Day, which will be observed on November 11. The Perez family is the seventh family to be awarded a new home, while the eighth, ninth, and tenth families remain unknown.
