Paul Hodgkins, another rioter who faced similar charges, was the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/19\/capitol-riot-paul-allard-hodgkins-sentence-felony-donald-trump\/?tpcc%3D=newsletter\">first to be sentenced<\/a>&nbsp;for a felony offense but received just an eight-month prison term. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/18\/capitol-rioter-threatened-familiy-weapons-charges-riot-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Capitol Rioter Who Threatened To Kill His Family Becomes First To Face Weapons Charges Under Riot Law)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7090096\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"33\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7090096\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A pro-Trump mob gathers inside the Senate chamber in the Capitol on January 6. Scott Fairlamb, a rioter who pleaded guilty to charges <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/18\/capitol-riots-donald-trump-department-of-justice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">including assault of an officer<\/a>, is set to be sentenced Wednesday, and prosecutors have asked for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njherald.com\/story\/news\/2021\/11\/05\/us-capitol-riot-scott-fairlamb-hardyston-nj-jail-sentence\/6296526001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">44-month prison term<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But prosecutors on Chansley\u2019s case say that even though he was non-violent, his actions and lack of remorse warrant a harsher sentence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChansley showed no remorse in the days after the event,\u201d they said in the filing. \u201cGloating to NBC News that the actions of the rioters that day sent our nations law makers into hiding, with gas masks, retreating into their underground bunker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
