Following the stunning moment, three legal commentators bust into yells and sighs of disbelief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do you not acquit after that?\u201d one of the commentators said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKyle looks like he just exhaled \u2014 he looks like he\u2019s gonna cry,\u201d another said, referring to Rittenhouse\u2019s seeming look of relief following the exchange.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also heard said, \u201cThis is their (prosecution\u2019s) star witness, and they are just picking him apart, like crows feasting on the dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/man-shot-by-rittenhouse-confirms-teen-fired-after-being-advanced-on-with-gun-pointed-at-him\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported on the exchange, Monday:<\/p>\n<p><em>Rittenhouse shot Gaige Grosskreutz, then 26 at the time, during a riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020. Grosskreutz, then armed with a pistol, had approached Rittenhouse moments after the teen had been attacked by two others and was laying on the ground. Grosskreutz pointed his weapon at Rittenhouse before the teen, who was armed with a rifle, turned his firearm on Grosskreutz, firing and hitting the older man\u2019s arm.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Under questioning from Rittenhouse defense attorney Corey Chirafisi, Grosskreutz testified that Rittenhouse fired on him after Grosskreutz had pointed his pistol at Rittenhouse.
