I still want to find out more information,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/in-the-know\/in-the-know\/580826-mcconaughey-comes-out-against-vaccine-mandates-for-kids\">McConaughey told<\/a>&nbsp;Andrew Ross Sorkin at the<em> New York Times<\/em> DealBook summit when asked about the mandates.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>McConaughey added that both him and his wife were vaccinated without being vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m vaccinated. My wife\u2019s vaccinated. I didn\u2019t do it because someone told me I had to \u2014 [I] chose to do it,\u201d he said. \u201cDo I think that there\u2019s any kind of scam or conspiracy theory? Hell no. We all got to get off that narrative. There\u2019s not a conspiracy theory on the vaccines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McConaghey said that he will not be vaccinating his children and that he and his family relied heavily on testing throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in a position though where I can do that, and I understand that not everyone can do that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Though McConaughey may not believe in mandating vaccines, he has expressed full support behind mask mandates since the coronavirus pandemic began.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not believing you\u2019re really scared of this little cotton thing. I\u2019m not believing you really feel that takes away your identity and your freedom,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/in-the-know\/in-the-know\/555944-mcconaughey-face-masks-a-short-term-inconvenience-for-long-term\">he said<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cThe Carlos Watson Show\u201d earlier this year. \u201cThis is a short-term inconvenience for long-term freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no data that says it\u2019s not a good [thing]. But growing pains are a good thing, because how the hell else are we going to grow up? I think we gotta look each other in the eye. I think we gotta look ourselves in the eye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe gotta look in the mirror and ask ourselves, \u2018How can I be better? How can I expect more of myself and others? How can I be more responsible? How can I have more compassion? How can I have more courage? How can I be more fair?
