It\u2019s the last game of the NFL slate, placed in primetime, an opportunity for big-time players to make big-time plays with all eyes watching.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The eyes that were watching Monday night\u2019s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Bears had to have been strained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a wild 29-27 win for the Steelers, we had it all. And not in a good way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Horrendous \u2014 and I mean horrendous \u2014 officiating, undisciplined football, and some of the worst announcing you\u2019ll ever hear on a sports broadcast.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Bears erased a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit and took the lead on a Darnell Mooney touchdown from Justin Fields with 1:46 left in the game. But two offside penalties by the Bears helped the Steelers get Chris Boswell into field goal range, knocking through a 40-yarder for the lead. Cairo Santos\u2019s 65-yard field goal attempt fell short to move the Steelers to 5-3 on the season.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re finding ways to win the game,\u201d Ben Roethlisberger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/recap?gameId=401326464\">said<\/a>. \u201cPlayed well enough. Not great. But offensively speaking, we\u2019re just doing enough right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now that the final result is out of the way, it\u2019s time to discuss just what in the heck we watched last night.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Officiating<\/p>\n<p>Disgusting. Embarrassing. Shameful. On the way to the sideline, Marsh made contact with referee Tony Corrente, who threw a flag for taunting, giving Pittsburgh a new set of downs.\u00a0Between this super late taunting penalty, intentionally bumping Cassius Marsh and that bogus low block call Tony Corrente needs to be investigated. pic.twitter.com\/pMmKnCyJNt\u2014 George Wrighster III (@georgewrighster) November 9, 2021\u201cFirst of all, keep in mind that taunting is a point of emphasis this year,\u201d Corrente said in a pool report. \u201cAnd with that said, I saw the player, after he made a big play, run toward the bench area of the Pittsburgh Steelers and posture in such a way that I felt he was taunting them.\u201cI didn\u2019t judge [the contact] as anything that I dealt with. That had nothing to do with it. It was the taunting aspect.\u201dMarsh told reporters after the game that Corrente \u201chip-checked\u201d him, calling it \u201cinappropriate.\u201d\u00a0\u201cOn my way to the sideline, I got hip-checked by the ref. It\u2019s pretty clear,\u201d Marsh said after the game. \u201cIf I was to do that to a ref or even touch a ref, we get kicked out of the game and possibly suspended and fined. I just think that that was incredibly inappropriate.\u201d\u201cI think that one was just bad timing. It\u2019s pretty clear to everybody who saw it that I wasn\u2019t taunting,\u201d Marsh said. \u201cI\u2019ve been doing the celebration my whole career. It\u2019s just sad to see stuff like that happen in a close game like that.\u201dAnnouncingBring back Jon Gruden.
