The ruling followed an announcement from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) earlier in November, and the new rules were set to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/04\/private-businesses-january-4-joe-biden-vaccine-testing-requirement\/\">have a<\/a> Jan. 4 deadline for compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ruling, White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters during Monday\u2019s briefing that the administration thinks \u201cpeople should not wait.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe say: Do not wait to take actions that will keep your workplace safe. It is important and critical to do, and waiting to get more people vaccinated will lead to more outbreaks and sickness,\u201d she said. \u201c<span id=\"subtitle785\" class=\"subtitle selfragment\" data-id=\"785\" data-start=\"2969675\" data-end=\"2971205\">So this is about keeping people in<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle786\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"786\" data-start=\"2971205\" data-end=\"2973335\">a workplace safe and so \u2013 and what<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle787\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"787\" data-start=\"2973335\" data-end=\"2975405\">we\u2019re seeing is more businesses and school<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle788\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"788\" data-start=\"2975405\" data-end=\"2977775\">closures and most lost jobs \u2026 keep<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle789\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"789\" data-start=\"2977775\" data-end=\"2979995\">us stuck in a pandemic<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle790\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"790\" data-start=\"2979995\" data-end=\"2981225\">that we\u2019re trying to end. Like, we<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle791\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"791\" data-start=\"2981225\" data-end=\"2982605\">do not want that to happen. We\u2019re<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle792\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"792\" data-start=\"2982605\" data-end=\"2984255\">trying to get past this pandemic, and<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle793\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"793\" data-start=\"2984255\" data-end=\"2985905\">we know the way to do that<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle794\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"794\" data-start=\"2986205\" data-end=\"2988395\">is to get people vaccinated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"subtitle794\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"794\" data-start=\"2986205\" data-end=\"2988395\">\u201cSo people&nbsp;<\/span><span id=\"subtitle795\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"795\" data-start=\"2988395\" data-end=\"2989869\">should not wait. We should continue to<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle796\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"796\" data-start=\"2990195\" data-end=\"2992265\">do \u2013 move forward and make sure<\/span> <span id=\"subtitle797\" class=\"subtitle\" data-id=\"797\" data-start=\"2992265\" data-end=\"2993705\">that they\u2019re getting their workplace vaccinated,\u201d she continued. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/04\/biden-administration-lawsuits-challenging-vaccine-mandate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Biden Administration Hit With Lawsuits Challenging Vaccine Mandate)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre said the Department of Justice (DOJ) would fight the ruling, and the department argued Monday that the challenges to Biden\u2019s rule hadn\u2019t proven that alleged injuries as a result of it \u201coutweigh the harm of [stopping] a Standard that will save thousands of lives and prevent hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/11\/08\/politics\/white-house-vaccine-mandate\/index.html\">according<\/a> to CNN. A number of Republican-led states, as well as private businesses,&nbsp; requested the pause, and numerous small businesses <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/04\/job-creators-network-vaccine-mandate-covid-19-coronavirus-joe-biden\/\">sued<\/a> over Biden\u2019s rule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the petitions give cause to believe there are grave statutory and constitutional issues with the Mandate, the Mandate is hereby stayed pending further action by this court,\u201d the court of appeals wrote in its ruling over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration maintains that its vaccine and testing requirement is legal.
