She also called Parnell a \u201cgood dad\u201d in another text.<\/p>\n<p>Parnell\u2019s attorney clarified whether Snell was comfortable with Parnell being with their children, to which Snell said, \u201cWhen they\u2019re in public, he\u2019s great with the kids,\u201d emphasizing again later that she supports Parnell being around them \u201cin public.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Parnell\u2019s attorney then asked why, if Snell had said Parnell abused the children, Snell would ask him to watch them in the house they owned together, which is not public.<\/p>\n<p>Snell replied, \u201cIt\u2019s pretty public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour home is public?\u201d Parnell\u2019s attorney asked.<\/p>\n<p>Snell replied that security cameras previously installed by Parnell made it semi-public.<\/p>\n<p>Snell also testified she had went on vacation with the children and Parnell soon after the first incident of alleged abuse.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>A custody battle between Parnell and Snell is ongoing, and Parnell has not yet testified in the current hearings.<\/p>\n<p>Establishment media outlets and Parnell\u2019s political opponents have seized on the messy divorce proceedings and concurrent custody battle to try to tarnish the candidate former President Donald Trump endorsed in the upcoming 2022 Pennsylvania Senate race. But the narrative began collapsing in court this week, with even the <em>Philadelphia Inquirer&nbsp;<\/em><em>\u2014&nbsp;<\/em>one outlet that originally pushed the story \u2014&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/news\/sean-parnell-hearing-questioning-wife-20211108.html?utm_source=t.co&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;cid=Philly.com+Twitter&amp;utm_campaign=Philly.com+Twitter+Account\">highlighting<\/a> problematic inconsistencies in Snell\u2019s testimony in a follow-up story.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div id=\"attachment_18660314\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"37\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18660314\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/AP20266762962683.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pennsylvania Republican congressional candidate Sean Parnell poses for photos ahead of a campaign rally with President Donald Trump on September 22, 2020, in Moon Township, PA. (AP Photo\/Keith Srakocic)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the original story that the <em>Inquirer<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/politics\/pennsylvania\/sean-parnell-wife-abuse-choke-senate-hearing-20211101.html\">published<\/a> a week ago, Parnell issued a statement denying any wrongdoing and accusing Snell of a \u201cnumber of false allegations\u201d on the witness stand, including \u201ccomplete fabrications; not distortions or misrepresentations \u2014 just flat-out lies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While he did not at the time specify them, Parnell seems to be vindicated upon cross-examination in court on Monday. \u201cLet me emphatically state: I have never raised a hand in anger towards my wife or any of our three children,\u201d Parnell said in his statement last week. \u201cWhat happened today in court was not justice, nor did it have any basis in fact or truth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe truth is I love my family and I love my children more than anything,\u201d Parnell added in his statement last week.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The establishment wing of the Republican Party has seized on the testimony of Parnell\u2019s ex-wife to tank the Trump-backed candidate\u2019s Senate campaign. David McCormick, the husband of Dina Powell \u2014 a Goldman Sachs banker who briefly worked in the Trump White House \u2014 is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/11\/04\/pennsylvania-republicans-investment-ceo-senate-519606\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> considering a bid of his own for Senate in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>Despite some in the establishment trying to push McCormick into the race and stop Parnell\u2019s Senate bid, if this story continues playing out the way it is this week it is hard to see Parnell\u2019s candidacy not survive this latest hurdle, depending on an eventual ruling from the judge in the custody battle.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.402730375427\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Snell conceded under questioning that she texted Parnell calling him a good dad even after the incidents in question. <\/p>\n<p>And that a judge denied her request for a protective order when she raised the incidents in 2018:<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZyzPnMrvsd\">https:\/\/t.co\/ZyzPnMrvsd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jonathan Tamari (@JonathanTamari) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JonathanTamari\/status\/1457765678681935877?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Whether establishment Republicans embrace Parnell after that remains to be seen, but in other states around the country like in Georgia the establishment has come around to Trump\u2019s picks with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell formally backing Herschel Walker for U.S. Senate there. Something similar could happen in Pennsylvania if Parnell\u2019s campaign survives the media storm surrounding his custody fight.<\/p>\n<p><em>This story is developing.
