A first offense will bring a warning but subsequent ones could produce fines running from $1,000 to $5,000 for businesses.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A large group of demonstrators \u2014 perhaps over 1,000 \u2014 gathered in downtown Los Angeles Monday (video via ABC 7 \/ YouTube):<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hundreds of anti-vaccine mandate activists hold protest in downtown LA&#039;s Grand Park | ABC7\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G97GTvQvGLs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>There has been significant pushback against vaccine mandates in L.A., including a requirement that all city workers, including first responders, be vaccinated or lose their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Dissidents within the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) have even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/radio\/2021\/09\/09\/los-angeles-firefighter-vaccine-mandate\/\">formed<\/a> a group, Firefighters for Freedom, to defend what they say is a constitutional right to refuse the vaccination.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Eric Garcetti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2021-11-03\/l-a-mayor-eric-garcetti-tests-positive-for-covid-19\">tested positive<\/a> for COVID last week while at the international climate change summit in Glasgow, Scotland, and isolated himself in a hotel room there.
