PFIZER CEO, ALBERT BOURLA, WAS ARRESTED AT HIS HOME IN THE AFFLUENT SURBURB OF SCARSDALE, NY ON FRIDAY MORNING BY THE FBI.\u201d Screen grabs of it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=3067201976940333&amp;set=a.2107216006272273&amp;type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">have also been shared<\/a> on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Bourla <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/people\/leadership\/board-of-directors\/albert_bourla-dvm-phd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">serves<\/a> as the CEO of Pfizer, a pharmaceutical company that has developed one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/emergency-preparedness-and-response\/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19\/covid-19-vaccines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three COVID-19 vaccines<\/a> available in the U.S. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine received Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for individuals ages 16 and older in August, according to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-approves-first-covid-19-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FDA press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, there is no evidence the Pfizer CEO has been arrested on fraud charges by the FBI. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fbi.gov\/news\/pressrel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FBI<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/news?component=4271&amp;topic=All&amp;date%5Bvalue%5D%5Bmonth%5D=&amp;date%5Bvalue%5D%5Byear%5D=&amp;items_per_page=25&amp;f%5B0%5D=field_pr_component%3A451&amp;f%5B1%5D=field_pr_component%3A4271\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justice Department<\/a> have not put out any press releases about charging or arresting Bourla for fraud, nor have they announced such moves on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%22Albert%20Bourla%22%20(from%3AFBI%20OR%20from%3ATheJusticeDept)&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">their respective Twitter accounts<\/a>. An FBI spokesperson told Check Your Fact via email they did not have any information about Bourla allegedly being arrested on fraud charges.<\/p>\n<p>Such an incident would likely prompt a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a>&nbsp;from Pfizer, which is a <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/PFE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">publicly-traded company<\/a>. Bourla gave interviews to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/health\/2021\/11\/05\/pfizer-ceo-coronavirus-covid-intv-newday-berman-ldn-vpx.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eWTpjP9CO3A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNBC<\/a> about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/05\/health\/pfizer-covid-pill.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paxlovid<\/a>, an antiviral medication developed by Pfizer to treat COVID-19, on Nov. 5, the date he was supposedly arrested. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/11\/03\/fact-check-pfizer-patent-tracking-vaccinated-microwave-graphene-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Was A Pfizer Patent For \u2018Tracking Vaccinated Humans Worldwide Via Microwave And Graphene\u2019 Approved?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The inaccurate allegation about Bourla being arrested appeared in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativebeaver.com\/2021\/11\/05\/ceo-of-pfizer-arrested-charged-with-fraud-media-blackout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nov. 5 article<\/a> published by the Conservative Beaver, a website that has a history of promulgating misinformation. Check Your Fact has previously debunked false claims from the website about former President Barack Obama <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2020\/12\/03\/fact-check-barack-obama-arrested-espionage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">getting arrested<\/a> for espionage and Pope Francis <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/01\/12\/fact-check-pope-indicted-charges-child-trafficking-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">being indicted<\/a> on human trafficking and fraud charges.
