Ron DeSantis (R) promised at a press conference on Monday that Florida will be \u201cstriking a blow for freedom\u201d in the state\u2019s upcoming special session, targeting coercive vaccine mandates and the forced masking of children in school.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from&nbsp;Zephyrhills, Florida, DeSantis said people constantly come up to him worrying over the \u201clooming deadline\u201d for vaccine mandates. Mandates \u2014 imposed by both the Biden administration and some corporations \u2014 are causing anxiety among families, \u201cand at the end of the day, we want people to be able to make informed decisions for themselves,\u201d the governor said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cBut we\u2019ve got to stop bossing people around. We\u2019ve got to stop the coercion. We\u2019ve got to stop trying to browbeat people. From the very beginning, we said, let\u2019s not put people down. Let\u2019s lift people up. We\u2019re going to be standing up against the Biden mandates, and we\u2019re going to be better as a result of it,\u201d DeSantis added.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, DeSantis said the special session will put other issues to bed, such as strengthening the Parents\u2019 Bill of Rights, in addition to targeting the vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18258922\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/parents-school-protest-vaccine-getty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18258922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/parents-school-protest-vaccine-getty.jpg\" alt width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sandy Huffaker\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As Breitbart News reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"29\">\n<p>According to a fact sheet from the governor\u2019s office, employers that have vaccine policies in place myself \u201cafford\u201d certain exceptions, including health or religious concerns. Others include exceptions for pregnant women, and those who have already recovered from the Chinese coronavirus. Additionally, employers \u201cmust provide ALL EMPLOYEES the option to choose periodic COVID-10 testing or PPE as an alternative to a vaccine requirement (at no cost to employees)\u201d \u2014 a drastically different stance than OSHA\u2019s rule, which does not require employers to cover the cost of weekly tests.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Per the fact sheet, employers who violate the protections would face fines of up to $50,000 per violation. Smaller businesses with 99 employees or less will face $10,000 fines per employee violation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, DeSantis said the special session will also focus on strengthening the Parents\u2019 Bill of rights,&nbsp;making it clear that schools cannot force kids to wear masks. If they do, the parents will have the right to sue school districts and recover cost and attorney\u2019s fees for having to do it, according to the governor.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s wrong to put people out of work, it\u2019s wrong to try to micromanage businesses like that, and it\u2019s wrong to potentially deprive key industries of people that we need \u2014 trucking, nurses, all this other stuff, and probably most importantly, what they\u2019re doing is unconstitutional,\u201d DeSantis said.<\/p>\n<p>The special session begins November 15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
