In its first phase, the system is intended to be used at restaurants, hotels, and commercial establishments such as gyms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Citizen access is determined through a \u201cstoplight\u201d icon based on the eponymous traffic signaling device: a \u201cred light\u201d for those with coronavirus symptoms, a \u201cyellow light\u201d for the unvaccinated but healthy, or a \u201cgreen light\u201d for vaccinated citizens. The socialist regime is using its existing veQR Android <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ve.jmtsolutiontechnologyca.veqr&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\">app<\/a> to implement the system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Aplicaci\u00f3n sem\u00e1foro de acceso | VeQR\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ARM4fe_9A18?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The veQR app works as a companion application to the socialist regime\u2019s Fatherland platform, a system inspired by China\u2019s Social Credit System and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2018\/11\/15\/report-chinese-telecom-giant-building-venezuela-social-credit-system\/\">built<\/a> with the assistance of the Chinese company ZTE. The Fatherland system holds an extensive amount of information of each registered citizen, such as household and workplace information. Caruzo)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It is worth noting that Venezuela, a socialist regime, is implementing its own spin on \u201cvaccination passports\u201d months before other countries. For what it\u2019s worth, citizens have had far fewer restrictions than certain U.S. states, such as California and New York, despite being placed in a permanent state of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/latin-america\/2021\/02\/10\/venezuela-maduro-abruptly-stops-coronavirus-lockdown-carnival-season\/\">7+7<\/a>\u201d lockdown schema, which consists of a bi-weekly cycle of \u201cradical\u201d and \u201cflexible\u201d quarantine weeks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The \u201cStoplight\u201d app received a characteristic rocky, lethargic debut under Venezuela\u2019s socialist regime. More than 400 restaurants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elnacional.com\/venezuela\/mas-de-400-restaurantes-se-han-registrado-para-la-aplicacion-del-semaforo-anticovid\/\">signed<\/a> up for the system in a timely manner but have not been able to use it because the regime has <a href=\"https:\/\/eldiario.com\/2021\/11\/02\/falta-informacion-semaforo-anticovid\/\">failed<\/a> to offer them any relevant information.<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s still in its infancy, the Stoplight app faces myriad obstacles that could potentially prevent its implementation, thereby relieving Venezuelans of yet another set of draconian restrictions in their lives. The fear of scaring customers away is a <a href=\"https:\/\/cronica.uno\/comerciantes-temen-inactividad-semaforo-anticovid-ahuyente-ventas\/\">latent<\/a> concern for many commercial establishments, as the Venezuelan economy \u2014 or what\u2019s left of it \u2014 is largely dependent on the once demonized \u201ccapitalistic\u201d U.S. dollar (as opposed to the several failed iterations of the \u201csocialist\u201d bol\u00edvar).<\/p>\n<p>The collapsed state of our public utilities is the biggest nightmare that most Venezuelans struggle against on a daily basis, but it might just be the biggest deterrent against a full vaccine passport implementation.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Venezuela is severely behind in internet connectivity and, while the easing of fierce restrictions has resulted in the introduction of new private Internet Service Providers, most of the country has no choice but to rely on the regime\u2019s CANTV internet provider \u2013 which, suffice to say, is extremely poor and deficient.<\/p>\n<p>Implementing any form of digital vaccine passport in a country plagued with endless blackouts and with extremely deficient (and in many cases, antiquated) internet connectivity is quite a difficult obstacle to overcome. To make the point: a widespread CANTV internet <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/outagedetect\/status\/1455595848562323472\">outage<\/a> got in the way of writing this article.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>For years, Venezuelans haven\u2019t had the ability to choose when it comes to many aspects of their lives and, if the Stoplight app ends up being a success, it would be one more set of restrictions that would prevent them from choosing to be vaccinated or not.<\/p>\n<p>Venezuelan citizens who decide to get vaccinated against Coronavirus don\u2019t even have much of a say on the type of vaccine they receive, as all of the available ones come from allies of the Maduro regime. The majority of the adult population receives China\u2019s Sinopharm product or, in certain cases, the Cuban regime\u2019s Abdal\u00e1 \u201cvaccine\u201d instead. Caruzo).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>There is neither official nor accurate data on Venezuela\u2019s vaccination status. While socialist dictator Nicol\u00e1s Maduro <a href=\"https:\/\/efectococuyo.com\/cocuyo-chequea\/venezuela-covid-67-de-la-poblacion\/\">claims<\/a> that 67 percent of the country (19.2 million citizens) has been vaccinated, a study by the Venezuelan medical and academic sector <a href=\"https:\/\/efectococuyo.com\/salud\/poblacion-completamente-vacunada-venezuela-11-por-ciento-estudio\/\">claims<\/a> that only 11 percent of the country is fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Whether the Stoplight app completes its deployment or is further expanded to contain the unvaccinated \u2013 or if it ends up as yet another failure of the socialist regime \u2013 remains to be seen. No one here will be surprised if the entire project gets abandoned halfway through. It would not be the first time the socialist regime spends resources on implementing restriction systems only to partially implement them or ditch them altogether because they don\u2019t work. One such example is the now abandoned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reportero24.com\/2012\/07\/20\/venezuela-chip-de-gasolina-genera-total-rechazo\/\">chips<\/a> installed in vehicles to control gasoline distribution nearly a decade ago in \u201ctroublesome\u201d states such as Zulia and T\u00e1chira.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, the stoplight app might serve another purpose: to push, or rather, coerce more people into signing up for the socialist Fatherland system, an indispensable requirement of the system (alongside being vaccinated) to be granted a \u201cgreen light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Christian K.
