Ron DeSantis (R) on Monday announced a swath of goals for the state legislature\u2019s upcoming special session, emphasizing the importance of protecting Floridians\u2019 jobs from coercive coronavirus mandates.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from&nbsp;Zephyrhills, Florida, DeSantis previewed some of the key goals ahead of the start of the legislature\u2019s special session, which begins November 15.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cLook, nobody \u2014 no cop, no firefighter, no nurse, nobody, should be losing their jobs because of these jabs. We\u2019ve got to stand up for people, protect their jobs, and protect their livelihoods,\u201d DeSantis said days after the U.S. Department of Labor\u2019s Occupational Safety and Public Health (OSHA) released its emergency temporary standard (ETS), forcing employers with over 100 employees to either mandate the vaccine or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/04\/osha-rule-imposes-burdens-on-the-unvaccinated-does-not-require-employers-to-pay-for-any-costs-associated-with-testing\/\">implement<\/a> rigorous testing requirements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though the Biden administration, always said there will never be mandates \u2014 and even they acknowledged the federal government doesn\u2019t have the power to mandate it \u2014 &nbsp;Fauci said it would never be mandated, and now all of the sudden, they say there\u2019s grave danger so it takes them two months to write a 500-page rule that they\u2019re trying to shove down the throats of the American people,\u201d DeSantis said, calling it \u201cwrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s wrong to treat people like that. It\u2019s wrong to put people out of work, it\u2019s wrong to try to micromanage businesses like that, and it\u2019s wrong to potentially deprive key industries of people that we need \u2014 trucking, nurses, all this other stuff and probably most importantly, what they\u2019re doing is unconstitutional,\u201d he said, explaining that this is not just about the Biden mandate itself.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Major corporations, he explained, are \u201cbasically enacting\u201d such policies. At the end of the day, all vaccine mandates \u201cignore science because they don\u2019t recognize immunity conferred through prior infection,\u201d he added, emphasizing that officials have a responsibility to protect Americans from the mandates.<\/p>\n<p>The special session will focus protecting Americans\u2019 jobs from the vaccine mandates, making the previous law passed addressing this issue, SB 2006, even clearer.<\/p>\n<p>According to a fact sheet from the governor\u2019s office, employers that have vaccine policies in place \u201cafford\u201d certain exceptions, including health or religious concerns. Others include exceptions for pregnant women, and those who have already recovered from the Chinese coronavirus. Additionally, employers \u201cmust provide ALL EMPLOYEES the option to choose periodic COVID-10 testing or PPE as an alternative to a vaccine requirement (at no cost to employees)\u201d \u2014 a drastically different stance than OSHA\u2019s rule, which does not require employers to cover the cost of weekly tests.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Per the fact sheet, employers who violate the protections would face fines of up to $50,000 per violation. Smaller businesses with 99 employees or less will face $10,000 fines per employee violation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, DeSantis said the special session will also focus on strengthening the Parents\u2019 Bill of rights,&nbsp;making it clear that schools cannot force kids to wear masks. If they do, the parents will have the right to sue school districts and recover cost and attorney\u2019s fees for having to do it, according to the governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI guarantee you, with having that kind of teeth in the Parents\u2019 Bill of Rights, you\u2019re going to have everyone get in line,\u201d he said, predicting the work done in the special session will \u201csave the day for a lot of workers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy sense is no Democrat will help any of these workers. Biden said cops should get fired, nurses should get fired. That\u2019s his position. I\u2019d imagine the legislature, they\u2019re all going to support forced firing of these people over the jabs. That\u2019s unfortunate,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cHopefully I\u2019m wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Overall, DeSantis said the legislature will provide \u201cprobably the strongest protections for both private and public sector employees anywhere in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Gov.
