Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who the former chairman of the Democrat Party <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/dnc-tom-perez-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-democratic-socialist-future-2018-7\">said<\/a> was the \u201cfuture\u201d of their party, is slamming critics who are warning that the Democrat Party has a \u201cwoke problem,\u201d saying that it\u2019s \u201cdangerous\u201d to think that way.<\/p>\n<p>AOC\u2019s remarks come after top Democrat strategist James Carville warned last week, following Republicans blowing out Democrats in races across the country, that the party has a \u201cwokeness\u201d problem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat went wrong is this stupid wokeness,\u201d Carville said. \u201cDon\u2019t just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis. Even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean, this defund the police lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln\u2019s name off of schools, that \u2014 people see that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s just \u2014 really have a suppressive effect all across the country to Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a woke detox center or something. They\u2019re expressing language that people just don\u2019t use. And there\u2019s a backlash and a frustration at that,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd we have got to change this and not be about changing dictionaries, and change laws. And these faculty lounge people that sit around mulling about I don\u2019t know what are \u2014 they\u2019re not working. Look what happened in Buffalo, again, Seattle.
