International prices of all other major cereals also increased month-on-month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FAO\u2019s Vegetable Oil Price Index soared by 9.6 percent in October, marking an all-time high.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe increase was driven by firmer price quotations for palm, soy, sunflower and rapeseed oils,\u201d according to the U.N.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPalm oil prices rose for a fourth consecutive month in October, largely underpinned by persisting concerns over subdued output in Malaysia due to ongoing migrant labour shortages,\u201d the food agency noted.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia is the second-largest producer of palm oil in the world, behind only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/niallmccarthy\/2020\/10\/02\/which-countries-produce-the-most-palm-oil-infographic\/?sh=421a413e1e42\">Indonesia<\/a>.
