Tom Wolf admitted he had his wife turn in his mail ballot during a recent radio appearance. It is illegal in Pennsylvania for anyone, with rare exception, to have someone else turn in their ballot for elections. After the revelation was made that the practice the governor admitted to was illegal, a spokesman for the governor called it an \u201chonest mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wolf spoke to KDKA radio host Kevin Battle on election day and <a href=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/kdka-morning-news-with-larry-richert-and-kevin-bat\/governor-wolf-violated-state-election-law\">discussed<\/a> his own voting habits. \u201cI didn\u2019t show up in person at the polls. We voted a couple weeks ago, actually,\u201d said Wolf. \u201cMy wife actually dropped it off personally two weeks ago, so it\u2019s there.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Pennsylvania election law currently prohibits most individuals from having a third person turn in their ballots. The only exceptions to this rule are for voters with disabilities or ones who select a representative to return an emergency absentee ballot for them.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>State Rep. Seth Grove quickly pointed out Wolf\u2019s violation on Twitter saying, \u201cOn Nov. 2, Gov. Wolf did an interview with KDKA where he disclosed his wife turned in his mail-in ballot for him.\u201d \u201cThis is illegal under the election code,\u201d Grove continued, \u201cBUT would have been legal had he signed HB 1300.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"13.284457478006\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On Nov. 2, Gov. According to&nbsp;<a class=\"keychainify-checked x5l\" title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spotlightpa.org\/news\/2021\/11\/pa-tom-wolf-mail-ballot-election-law-violation\/?mc_cid=939be8b9b3&amp;mc_eid=086230625b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spotlight PA<\/a>, \u201c[HB 1300] would have allowed members of the same household to return each other\u2019s ballots.\u201d Additionally, the bill would have expanded access to early voting, required signature verification of mail ballots, and implemented voter identification.<\/p>\n<p>However, Wolf <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/30\/gov-tom-wolf-vetoes-election-integrity-measure-mandating-voter-id-pennsylvania\/\"><span>vetoed<\/span><\/a> this bill in June because of the voter ID requirement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Wolf responded to allegations of Wolf breaking the law by having his wife drop off his ballot instead of doing so himself as state law requires by saying, \u201cit was an honest mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pennsylvania Democrat Gov.
