In addition to the cancellation announced on Friday, Lightfoot said all city workers will also get two hours of paid time off to get their children vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>With the holiday season approaching and vaccines recently scoring approval for children ages 5-11, city leaders want all eligible students to get the shot as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a difficult decision for us to cancel classes on Friday,\u201d said Pedro Martinez, CPS CEO. \u201cI know it creates challenges for our parents.
