The claim originates from a website that says it contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/steve.marter.7\/posts\/4763737073689367\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a> shows a picture of a cargo ship along with text that claims Navy SEALs on Nov. 2 raided a \u201cHong Kong-flagged bulk carrier called the Morning Star, anchored off Long Beach, California, and rescued 200 foreign children who had been imprisoned in a decrepit cargo hold.\u201d The post goes on to claim that the SEALs also found the bodies of 12 dead children on the ship and that the raid was based on a tip from \u201csomeone\u201d at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maralagoclub.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mar-a-Lago<\/a>, possibly former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>There is, however, no evidence any of this occurred. Check Your Fact searched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinetraffic.com\/en\/data\/?asset_type=vessels&amp;columns=flag,shipname,photo,recognized_next_port,reported_eta,reported_destination,current_port,imo,ship_type,show_on_live_map,time_of_latest_position,lat_of_latest_position,lon_of_latest_position,notes&amp;current_port_in%7Cbegins%7CLONG%20BEACH%20ANCH%7Ccurrent_port_in=22121&amp;quicksearch%7Cbegins%7Cquicksearch=morning%20star&amp;time_of_latest_position_between%7Cgte%7Ctime_of_latest_position_between=2880,525600\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MarineTraffic\u2019s<\/a> vessel location database but found no record of any vessel called \u201cMorning Star\u201d being anchored off the coast of Long Beach, California. Check Your Fact also searched press releases from the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=raid%20Long%20Beach&amp;affiliate=dod_navy.mil&amp;utf8=%26%23x2713%3B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Navy<\/a> as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/search.usa.gov\/search?query=raid%20Long%20Beach&amp;affiliate=defensegov&amp;utf8=%26%23x2713%3B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Defense<\/a> but likewise found nothing about such a raid taking place. The <a href=\"https:\/\/polb.com\/documents\/search-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Port of Long Beach<\/a> has not released any statements addressing a raid to that effect.<strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/06\/25\/fact-check-anthony-fauci-arrested-navy-seals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: FACT CHECK: Has Anthony Fauci Been Arrested By Navy SEALs?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Andrew DeGarmo, a spokesperson for the Navy Office of Information, told Check Your Fact in a phone interview that the claim is false.<\/p>\n<p>An internet search reveals the claim originated with the satire website <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/11\/navy-seals-raid-cargo-ship-full-of-smuggled-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Real Raw News<\/a>, which published an article on Nov. 2 that featured the same picture and text as the Facebook post. Real Raw News has a <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">disclaimer<\/a> on its website that states it contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d However, there is no such Disclaimer included in the Facebook post, which presents the claims as a factual report.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Check Your Fact has fact-checked a viral claim stemming from a Real Raw News article.
