The Party regularly encourages \u201cred tourism,\u201d or travel to historic communist sites to worship Party leaders, a practice that may have exacerbated the spread of the disease. Rather than identifying the patient zero of the current outbreak as its source \u2013 an unidentified traveler from Shanghai \u2013 Party officials have insisted that the disease was \u201cimported\u201d because they believed the Indian variant of the virus, known as \u201cDelta,\u201d was responsible for the infections.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Chinese coronavirus originated in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. The packages were then sent for nucleic acid testing, and returned positive results,\u201d according to the government-run&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202111\/1238167.shtml\"><em>Global Times<\/em> <\/a>newspaper. \u201cThe city\u2019s health authority urged local residents to stop buying items from abroad with high infection risks in light of pressure from imported coronavirus cases.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Global Times<\/em>, citing Party officials had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/10\/25\/china-blames-latest-coronavirus-failure-on-unidentified-imported-source\/\">asserted<\/a> that an \u201cimported\u201d contaminated item had caused the pandemic since last month, without offering any evidence that the first patients of this outbreak had traveled outside of the country or come into contact with any infected travelers. Scientists do not consider contact with contaminated surfaces a significant mode of infection for the Chinese coronavirus, however.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople can be infected with SARS-CoV-2 through contact with surfaces. However, based on available epidemiological data and studies of environmental transmission factors, surface transmission is not the main route by which SARS-CoV-2 spreads, and the risk is considered to be low,\u201d the U.S. CDC&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/04\/06\/cdc-risk-of-contracting-coronavirus-from-contaminated-surfaces-lowcdc-risk-of-contracting-coronavirus-from-contaminated-surfaces-low\/\">noted<\/a>&nbsp;in April.<\/p>\n<p>An article in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/d41586-021-00251-4\"><em>Nature<\/em><\/a> magazine this year similarly dismissed contact with surfaces as not \u201ca significant risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.952755905512\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It is \u201cextremely unlikely\u201d the coronavirus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, and is more likely to have jumped to humans from an animal, W.H.O. investigators said Tuesday. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wush1l4IjD\">https:\/\/t.co\/wush1l4IjD<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1359493962306883587?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While China has identified imported cases \u2013 that is, individuals testing positive for coronavirus after arriving from a foreign country \u2013 in the past week, it has documented many more domestic cases. According to the Xinhua News Agency, China <a href=\"http:\/\/en.people.cn\/n3\/2021\/1105\/c90000-9916012.html\">identified<\/a> 68 local cases on Thursday versus ten imported cases.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>China has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/04\/china-two-more-provinces-join-coronavirus-emergency-one-day\/\">implemented<\/a> coronavirus emergency procedures in response to local cases in at least 19 provinces as of Wednesday all around the country.<\/p>\n<p>The region on the border with Mongolia is among the most severely affected, but provinces on the southern border have also shut down activity and begun mass testing regimes to seek out infected people. Chinese officials claim the outbreaks in separate parts of the country were not caused by the same source.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe origin of the Heihe outbreak also remains unknown, and it is not related to the recent flare-ups in Inner Mongolia and Gansu Province,\u201d the <em>Global Times<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/03\/coronavirus-crisis-strikes-half-chinas-provinces\/\">claimed<\/a> this week. (STR\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The nationwide outbreak <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/02\/coronavirus-panic-spreads-in-beijing-three-months-before-olympics\/\">began<\/a> about three months before China is expected to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Beijing is among the most highly guarded areas affected by the outbreak and last month was forced to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/10\/25\/coronavirus-forces-china-to-postpone-beijing-marathon\/\">postpone<\/a> the annual Beijing Marathon due to coronavirus concerns. In another blow to tourism, Shanghai Disneyland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2021\/11\/01\/shanghai-disneyland-shuts-down-tests-34000-single-coronavirus-case\/\">shut down<\/a> after identifying one case of coronavirus, forcing 34,000 people at the site to test for coronavirus before they could leave.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympics have already suffered significant international condemnation in light of the fact that China is currently engaging in genocide. The U.S. government and a wide variety of human rights organizations have extensively documented the use of concentration camps to enslave and torture members of ethnic minorities, particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/national-security\/2018\/12\/01\/reuters-reveals-up-to-1200-muslim-gulags-built-in-china\/\">Uyghurs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/asia\/2020\/09\/23\/study-china-has-forced-500000-tibetans-into-labor-camps-this-year\/\">Tibetans<\/a>. Uyghur refugees have also detailed the extensive use of forced sterilization to eliminate their population.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo Olympics should be held in a country whose government is committing genocide,\u201d Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rep.
