Republicans running for office have raised parents concerns about divisive racist principles being integrated in public school curriculums nationwide. Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cRepublicans are lying. They\u2019re not being honest,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re not being truthful about where we stand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre said that President Joe Biden believed that America was a \u201cgreat country,\u201d but that, \u201cgreat countries have to be honest with themselves about their history, which is the good and the bad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She noted that Biden was specifically concerned about voters nationwide being led astray by what she described as \u201cmisinformation\u201d on the issue.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think what he was trying to say is that there\u2019s so much misinformation out there. So much disinformation out there,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre acknowledged that public school curriculums were not up to the federal government but up to school boards, parents, teachers, and communities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means that politicians should not be dictating what our kids are being taught,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She claimed Republicans were using kids as a \u201cpolitical football,\u201d for elections but did not care about kids, because they did not vote for Democrat efforts to help kids in schools, such as the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are not being honest, they are being incredibly dishonest,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The White House argued Thursday that Republicans were lying about attacks on Critical Race Theory in public schools, despite failing to identify any specific evidence to make their case.
