Steve Israel drew parallels between the midterm election of 2010 \u2014 when Democrats lost more than 60 seats in the House \u2014 and the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/03\/republican-majority-virginia-house-delegates-glenn-youngkin\/\">flipping<\/a> of Virginia, once a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/11\/08\/demographics-doom-republicans-in-virginia\/\">blue stronghold<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/11\/03\/virginia-dems-house-loss-519320?nname=playbook&amp;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&amp;nrid=0000014e-f0f6-dd93-ad7f-f8f7ed7e0001&amp;nlid=630318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according<\/a> to Politico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is 2009 all over again,\u201d Israel said. \u201cThe only benefit they [Democrats] have now over 2009 is knowing just how bad it can get.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"13.552941176471\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">NEW: House Dems agonize over a suburban collapse ahead of 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is 2009 all over again\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere were clear warning signs in 2020 that simply tying a candidate to Trump doesn\u2019t work\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no excuse for not being able to deliver\u201d<\/p>\n<p>w <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ec_schneider?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ec_schneider<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/E82ThAFam4\">https:\/\/t.co\/E82ThAFam4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ally Mutnick (@allymutnick) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/allymutnick\/status\/1456233760886829067?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 4, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Democratic Party\u2019s support in the suburbs of Virginia \u2014 which in large part enabled the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2018\/11\/06\/democrats-flip-the-house-midterms\/\">blue wave<\/a>\u201d in the 2018 midterm election and President <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/11\/03\/biden-lands-us-stunned-virginia-shocker\/\">Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s 10-point margin in 2020 \u2014 has faded away.
