The claim originates from a website that says it contains \u201chumor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Fact Check:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BruceTheConqueror\/posts\/10159672294071425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> contains the text of and provides the <a href=\"https:\/\/bestnewshere.com\/military-convicts-chelsea-clinton\/?fbclid=IwAR2_HVBknVdY4gbeT-Spfscdk45ZtOFGQo974dscpjMUfLwPv8R6Rp_4wLw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link<\/a> to an article on the website Best News Here that puts up the headline \u201cMilitary Convicts Chelsea Clinton.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/10\/27\/fact-check-halyna-hutchins-tweet-information-hillary-clinton-arrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Halyna Hutchins Tweet, \u2018I Have Information That Will Lead To Hillary Clinton\u2019s Arrest\u2019? )<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BruceTheConqueror\/posts\/10159672294071425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bestnewshere.com\/military-convicts-chelsea-clinton\/?fbclid=IwAR2_HVBknVdY4gbeT-Spfscdk45ZtOFGQo974dscpjMUfLwPv8R6Rp_4wLw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a>, it alleges Chelsea Clinton was convicted on Oct. 28 by a panel of U.S. military officers following her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, providing testimony related to purported charges of trafficking children. The conviction came after Chelsea Clinton and her husband had been arrested by Delta Force personnel as they traveled with three Haitian children, the Facebook post and article further claim.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, the arrest and trial proceedings described in the Facebook post and accompanying article never took place. No press releases issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/News\/Releases\/?Search=Chelsea+Clinton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Defense Department<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/news?keys=Chelsea+Clinton&amp;items_per_page=25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justice Department<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clintonfoundation.org\/media-center\/press-releases-statements\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clinton Foundation<\/a> mention her being tried or convicted of child trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea Clinton&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChelseaClinton\/status\/1453806184528498713\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a> on Oct. 28, the day of her supposed conviction, and did not make any reference to it or the trial she is alleged to have faced that day. There are also no reports from <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/search?searchtext=chelsea%20clinton%20convicted\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">national<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/search?q=chelsea+clinton+convicted\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/search-results\/search?q=chelsea%20clinton%20convicted\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">outlets<\/a> about such legal action being taken against her, which almost certainly would have garnered attention from the press.<\/p>\n<p>The text in both the Facebook post and the Best News Here article matches a story <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/2021\/10\/military-convicts-chelsea-clinton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">originally published<\/a> Oct. 31 on the website Real Raw News. The <a href=\"https:\/\/realrawnews.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cAbout Us\u201d page<\/a> for Real Raw News contains a Disclaimer that says, \u201cThis website contains humor, parody, and satire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite that Disclaimer on the Real Raw News website, the baseless claim about Chelsea Clinton being convicted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ricky.ricardo344\/posts\/4429458290436995\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has been shared<\/a> by some Facebook users who appear to mistakenly believe it actually happened.
