Joe Manchin (D-WV) refused to go low on Wednesday evening when responding to controversial attacks made against him by Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), who suggested that Manchin was racist for opposing Democrats\u2019 massive social spending bill.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Manchin does not get to dictate the future of our country,\u201d Bush <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cori-bush-unloads-senator-joe-manchin-hes-anti-black-anti-child-anti-woman-anti-immigrant\">said<\/a> in a statement earlier this week. \u201cI do not trust his assessment of what our communities need the most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bush said that \u201cManchin\u2019s opposition to the Build Back Better Act is anti-Black, anti-child, anti-woman, and anti-immigrant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manchin was asked about Bush\u2019s remarks during a Fox News interview on Wednesday night with anchor Bret Baier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would just say the congresswoman doesn\u2019t know me. She doesn\u2019t know me,\u201d Manchin responded. \u201cAnd I\u2019m happy to talk to her. I think maybe she will have a different opinion. Go home to West Virginia and ask people, and I think you will get a different opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd this is a shame when we start this war \u2014 war of words. I\u2019m not going to speak ill about any of my congressional friends and colleagues on the House side or the Senate side,\u201d Manchin added. \u201cWe can have a difference of opinion. The rhetoric around here has gotten so harsh and so toxic that you can\u2019t agree to disagree anymore. You can\u2019t sit down and say, OK, I disagree with you, Bret.
