We will not teach critical race theory and I will stand up for teachers and parents against these kinds of canceled culture initiatives, and, by the way, who\u2019s standing up for Tanner Cross?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Loudoun County \u2014 a solidly Democratic district \u2014 swung nine percentage points towards Youngkin amid worries from white-collar and blue-collar parents that their children were being subordinated to teachers\u2019 enthusiasm for racial \u201cequity\u201d and transgender advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin also gained because Democratic-leaning upper-middle-class parents dislike the leftist push to elevate racial equity above academic standards and test scores. Youngkin\u2019s campaign promised to reverse those Democratic changes.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.0321100917431\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who persistently denies CRT exists in schools, oversaw the Education Dept. in 2015 when it encouraged using CRT. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/481zaMLyyS\">https:\/\/t.co\/481zaMLyyS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1449723332916617217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Fox News polled more than 2,500 Virginia voters and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/critical-race-theory-virginia-top-factor-important-fox-analysis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">found<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>25% of them viewed the [Critical Race Theory] CRT debate as the single most important factor they considered when deciding who to support for governor. Of the quarter of voters who labeled CRT the most important issue, 70% supported Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin and 29% supported the former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, 72% of Virginia voters said CRT was an \u201cimportant\u201d factor in their vote while 28% said it was not important.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Democrats\u2019 push to establish transgenderism in schools also spurred turnout in many red districts. For example, Youngkin gained an eight-point swing in solid-red Rockingham County in the state\u2019s semi-rural Shenandoah Valley.<\/p>\n<p>On October 29, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/\">polling firm<\/a> showed Youngkin had <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EchelonInsights\/status\/1454157176210173952?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a 15-point lead<\/a> among parents with kids in school.<\/p>\n<p>GOP leaders normally focus their emotion and advocacy on the needs of business owners. But Youngkin\u2019s alliance with parents is raising the GOP\u2019s willingness <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/daveweigel\/status\/1452699054429773827\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to oppose<\/a> the Democrats\u2019 establishment radicalism.<\/p>\n<p>But the battle is far from over. Republicans appear to have gained a one-seat majority in the state House, but the Democrats can still use their Senate majority to stymie legislative reforms. The coverage was provided by Breitbart News and other mainstream outlets, even as establishment outlets tried to hide the drama.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>For example, Breitbart ran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=site%3Abreitbart.com+%22transgender%22+&amp;tbs=cdr%3A1%2Ccd_min%3A3%2F1%2F2021%2Ccd_max%3A5%2F31%2F2021&amp;sxsrf=AOaemvJb-YwOzuyOElnW3IclitsybfshtQ%3A1635910542743&amp;ei=jgOCYen2LJPDytMP17uwwA4&amp;oq=site%3Abreitbart.com+%22transgender%22+&amp;gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EANKBAhBGAFQyO0LWMjtC2Cz_QtoAnAAeACAASmIASmSAQExmAEAoAEBwAEB&amp;sclient=gws-wiz&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjp9aLWofvzAhWToXIEHdcdDOgQ4dUDCA8&amp;uact=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">almost 40 articles<\/a> on transgender advocacy in May, including many on advocacy in schools. Breitbart posted&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=site%3Abreitbart.com+%22critical+race+theory%22&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS946US946&amp;tbs=cdr%3A1%2Ccd_min%3A5%2F1%2F2021%2Ccd_max%3A5%2F31%2F2021&amp;sxsrf=AOaemvLQZxVRbyf2vfqwFtAmsfzXFrxmeA%3A1635911955657&amp;ei=EwmCYeeuJ9ikytMPlKKIiAU&amp;oq=site%3Abreitbart.com+%22critical+race+theory%22&amp;gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EANKBAhBGAFQ3B9Yt2Bg-HxoAXAAeACAAaIBiAHICJIBBDIyLjGYAQCgAQHAAQE&amp;sclient=gws-wiz&amp;ved=0ahUKEwinhID4pvvzAhVYknIEHRQRAlEQ4dUDCA8&amp;uact=5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than 10 articles<\/a> about Critical Race Theory and many articles on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/author\/bthies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">school board disputes<\/a> in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>On May 18, for example, Breitbart reported on a scoop about a secret CRT program in nearby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/education\/2021\/05\/28\/exclusive-critical-race-theory-inside-virginia-countys-curriculum-racial-indoctrination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Albermarle County<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10.422268907563\">\n<p>In 2019, the Albemarle County, Virginia School Board unanimously voted to&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.k12albemarle.org\/our-division\/anti-racism-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">adopt<\/a>&nbsp;a radical \u201canti-racism\u201d&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.k12albemarle.org\/our-division\/anti-racism-policy\/policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">policy<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2021\/05\/Anti-racism-Advisory-Lessons-Overview-and-Resources-for-Adults-working-with-young-people.pdf\">aimed<\/a>&nbsp;at \u201cbuilding the racial consciousness\u201d by&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1jHdXUJusYZ94dST-kAd1K1uwpCtGGu085_j_hJ9Oi58\/edit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">requiring<\/a>&nbsp;children to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities and \u201cunderstand that anti-racism is an action\u201d for which they have a \u201cpersonal responsibility.\u201d Breitbart News has obtained access to the County\u2019s pilot curricula, which the County has attempted to keep secret from parents.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Solid-blue Albermarle County shifted towards Youngkin by five points.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The Virginia results were echoed in New Jersey and New York\u2019s Long Island, where a wave of suburban voters ejected many Democrats from local offices. In other states, grassroots movements <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/11\/03\/anti-crt-parents-win-school-board-victories-throughout-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">took school boards<\/a> back from radical-minded Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>Several GOP-linked advocacy groups spent heavily to spotlight the transgender and CRT issue in Virginia, including the American Principles Project. The Left\u2019s woke agenda is deeply unpopular among the majority of Americans. Fighting back against that agenda is appealing to every single group that Youngkin needs to win. It\u2019s firing up the base, and it\u2019s tapping directly into the concerns of much-discussed suburban voters. (Suburban Loudoun County, before becoming the epicenter of the school controversy, voted for Biden in 2020 by a 25-point margin.) It\u2019s also appealing to working-class voters across all demographics.<\/p>\n<p>\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Yet, despite the obviousness of cultural conservatism\u2019s electoral potency, very few high-profile&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/republicans\">Republicans<\/a>&nbsp;have been willing to stake their campaign on it\u2014until now. Glenn Youngkin deserves credit for emerging as an advocate for the American family and, in turn, finally requiring the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/democrats\">Democrats<\/a>&nbsp;to stand in the spotlight and defend their radical agenda to rip apart education, the economy and the family alike.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"11.085889570552\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It has been a very busy election cycle for us in the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/VAGov?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#VAGov<\/a> race <\/p>\n<p>APP PAC completed a nearly $1 million campaign in Virginia to educate voters about the anti-family agenda of Democrat Terry McAuliffe.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the highlights \ud83d\udc47 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wAfg1Y00Yw\">pic.twitter.com\/wAfg1Y00Yw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 American Principles \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@approject) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/approject\/status\/1455656658764447748?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 2, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Supporters of CRT and pro-transgender policies admitted the damage. For example, Metro Weekly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metroweekly.com\/2021\/11\/what-virginias-elections-mean-for-the-lgbtq-community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> November 1:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"14.615384615385\">\n<p>Fights over transgender rights or critical race theory \u2014 or, as in Fairfax County, the decision to ban&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/local\/education\/fairfax-schools-remove-books-lgbtq\/2021\/09\/28\/a3bae2fc-1fc3-11ec-9309-b743b79abc59_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some LGBTQ-themed books<\/a>, based on their LGBTQ or adult content, or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailysignal.com\/2021\/10\/18\/virginia-school-survey-asks-kids-if-they-are-transgender\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outrage over a survey<\/a>&nbsp;that asked middle and high school students questions about their personal identity or family life \u2014 have fueled an increased in support for Youngkin and other Republicans.&nbsp;In September, the Republican-led Stafford County Board of Supervisors&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.metroweekly.com\/2021\/09\/stafford-county-supervisors-pass-resolution-condemning-critical-race-theory-and-required-pronouns-in-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passed a resolution<\/a>&nbsp;condemning the alleged inclusion of \u201ccritical race theory\u201d in schools and preventing teachers from asking students their pronouns, threatening to potentially defund specific projects or initiatives involving critical race theory, racism, or transgender rights.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Youngkin also made sure to distance himself from President Donald Trump, so enabling him to win more votes from comfortable upper-middle-class people.
