It goes against every bone and everything I\u2019ve ever fought for,\u201d Santorum said on his final network appearance on May 3.<\/p>\n<p>He also clarified that he \u201cmisspoke,\u201d because he did not make it clear that \u201cI was talking about the founding, and the principles embodied in the founding,\u201d such as \u201cthe Constitution and the Declaration of Independence\u201d had little influence from American Indian culture. After the senator\u2019s May 3 appearance on \u201cCuomo Prime Time,\u201d CNN\u2019s Don Lemon said, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/don-lemon-contradicts-1619-project-europeans-did-not-found-this-country\">Europeans did not found this country<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Santorum\u2019s refusal to apologize or backtrack on the Western origins of the U.S. Constitution cost him his job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter that appearance, it was pretty clear we couldn\u2019t use him again,\u201d a CNN producer told HuffPost.
