Gretchen Whitmer\u2019s administration has reportedly burned notes and destroyed emails from a coronavirus probe targeting the City of Port Huron for violating state rules.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em>Detroit News<\/em>, state Inspector Matthew Hartman of the&nbsp;Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.detroitnews.com\/story\/news\/local\/michigan\/2021\/11\/01\/miosha-dismisses-covid-fine-port-huron-threatens-depose-director\/6199144001\/\">fined<\/a> the City of Port Huron $6,300 after visiting on July 21 due to a complaint. The complaint reportedly alleged the city violated the state\u2019s coronavirus rules.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>Hartman apparently fined the city without \u201cwitnessing anyone not wearing a mask\u201d or \u201cviolating\u201d coronavirus rules.&nbsp;Hartman reportedly claimed \u201cemployees he interviewed saw violations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The city believes the fines were not lawful due to the Michigan Supreme Court previously ruling Gretchen Whitmer executive orders related to the enforced rule were unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen asked about notes he took during the investigation and interviews, Hartman said he burned them,\u201d the <em>News<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iosconews.com\/news\/state\/article_57ff95e9-fbc8-5764-a636-cb303ca2383a.html\">reported<\/a>&nbsp;about Hartman questioned in a deposition by a city attorney. \u201cThe inspector also said he destroyed emails from his supervisor regarding the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>It is unknown why the notes and emails were disposed of.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18586242\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\"><a href=\"https:\/\/media.breitbart.com\/media\/2021\/11\/GettyImages-1233788393.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-18586242\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/GettyImages-1233788393-1024x756-1.jpg\" alt width=\"990\" height=\"731\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>U.S. President Joe Biden hugs Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (L) after Biden arrived at Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City, Michigan on July 3, 2021. (MANDEL NGAN\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Port Huron\u2019s lawyer, Todd Shoudy, reportedly notified MIOSHA on October 15 he intended to next depose the agency\u2019s director, Bart Pickelman. But just 15 days later, the agency apparently said it would dismiss the case into the city of Port Huron.<\/p>\n<p>Port Huron\u2019s city manager Manager James Freed has reportedly demanded&nbsp;MIOSHA be investigated over the incident. The state of Michigan reportedly cost the city up to $20,000 to repeal the state\u2019s case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart breaks for all the small businesses and mom-and-pops that didn\u2019t have an expert legal team, who didn\u2019t have the resources to put MIOSHA under oath,\u201d Freed told the Detroit News.<\/p>\n<p>The Center Square <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/politics\/whitmers-administration-burns-documents-after-covid-19-rules-pushback\">suggests<\/a>&nbsp;Hartman under deposition revealed \u201cWhitmer\u2019s executive orders led MIOSHA\u2019s rule enforcement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it sounds like the measure, the standard that you were measuring employers by, though, was the specific language of the executive orders in determining whether or not there was a general duty clause violation, true?\u201d Shoudy reportedly asked in the disposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say that\u2019s true, yes,\u201d Hartman responded.<\/p>\n<p><em>Follow Wendell Huseb\u00f8 on Twitter&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WendellHusebo?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\"><em>@WendellHuseb\u00f8<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michigan Gov.
