Youngkin focused heavily on education and problems with local school boards during his campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/virginia-governor-election-youngkin-results-11635884218?mod=hp_lead_pos1\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Election officials said turnout was high. More than 3 million voters were reported late Tuesday, with votes still being counted. About 2.6 million Virginians voted in the last gubernatorial election in 2017, state election figures show. More than 2.2 million Virginians voted in the 2013 governor\u2019s race.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dave Wasserman of the non-partisan Cook Political Report and Decision Desk HQ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-republicans-projected-to-win-virginia-attorney-general-lt-governor-lead-so-far-in-house-of-delegates\">called<\/a> the Virginia Lieutenant Gubernatorial Election for Republican Winsome Sears and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-republicans-projected-to-win-virginia-attorney-general-lt-governor-lead-so-far-in-house-of-delegates\">called<\/a> the Virginia Attorney General Election for Republican Jason Miyares.
