The move comes just two weeks after the board kicked former Ohio Treasurer and candidate for U.S. Senate Josh Mandel out of a board meeting after he&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tech\/2021\/10\/12\/senate-candidate-josh-mandel-rattles-oh-school-board-by-defending-children-against-extremism-on-masks-gender-crt\/\">spoke out<\/a>&nbsp;against mask mandates, Critical Race Theory, and leftist gender ideology, despite the fact he was invited to speak by concerned parents. Responding to the board\u2019s reversal of its mask mandate, Mandel told Breitbart News:&nbsp;\u201cWe the&nbsp;people will not be intimidated by out-of-touch school bureaucrats or power-hungry politicians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lakota Local School District&nbsp;in Cincinnati, Ohio, is dropping its mask mandate for K-12 students and staff, regardless of their vaccination status, starting on Monday, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wlwt.com\/article\/lakota-local-schools-drops-its-mask-mandate-for-students-staff-beginning-monday\/38110690?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot\">report<\/a> by WLWT 5.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"11.149635036496\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A couple weeks ago the Lakota School Board kicked me out of their meeting for backing parents and speaking out against mask mandates.<\/p>\n<p>Today the board dropped their mask mandates.<\/p>\n<p>Power to the PEOPLE! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/e1vSDgrlVd\">https:\/\/t.co\/e1vSDgrlVd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Josh Mandel (@JoshMandelOhio) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoshMandelOhio\/status\/1454258333758763008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 30, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the school district says masks are still strongly recommended, a mandate will not be enforced. Bizarrely, masks will still be required for young children attending preschool, as well as for students traveling on school buses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we have done since the start of the pandemic, in addition to reviewing the guidance from ODH, we consulted with local medical experts before making this decision,\u201d&nbsp;Lakota Local Schools reportedly wrote in a letter to families.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe have not received any feedback from the Butler County General Health District that opposes these new protocols,\u201d the school district added.<\/p>\n<p>School officials also noted that if they see a spike in positive cases of coronavirus, they may choose to reinstate the mask mandate at any time.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks ago, Mandel was escorted out of a Lakota School Board meeting after speaking out against mask mandates, Critical Race Theory, and gender ideology being pushed in schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are using kids as pawns in a political game,\u201d the Senate candidate said to school board members at the time. \u201cHere in the Lakota district and throughout the state of Ohio, children should not be forced to wear masks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, Mandel reacted to Lakota Local School dropping its mask mandate, telling Breitbart News that \u201cWe the&nbsp;people will not be intimidated by out-of-touch school bureaucrats or power-hungry politicians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a Martine vet, father, and taxpayer, I will not back down from fighting for our freedom, liberty, and parental rights,\u201d Mandel added.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, General&nbsp;Michael Flynn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/19\/exclusive-general-michael-flynn-endorses-josh-mandel-for-u-s-senate-in-ohio\/\">announced<\/a> his endorsement of Mandel for U.S. Senate, stating that the candidate \u2014 who is also a Marine&nbsp;Corps veteran \u2014 is \u201cthe only true consistent pro-Trump Conservative in the race for U.S. Senate in Ohio,\u201d who \u201cisn\u2019t afraid to take on the deep state and stop the left\u2019s cultural indoctrination of America with Critical Race Theory and \u2018woke\u2019 cancel culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>You can follow Alana&nbsp;Mastrangelo on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ARmastrangelo\">Facebook<\/a> and Twitter at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ARmastrangelo\">@ARmastrangelo<\/a>, and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/alanamastrangelo\/\">Instagram<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Ohio school district that started the school year enforcing a mask mandate has now reversed course on forcing students to cover their faces.
