Terry McAuliffe\u2019s lead. Virginia voters are also casting ballots for the state\u2019s House of Delegates, where Republicans are hoping to wipe out Democrats\u2019 55-45 majority.<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey is the only other state where voters will cast a ballot for governor and the state legislature, and incumbent Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy remains the <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/governor\/new-jersey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">favorite<\/a>&nbsp;to win re-election.<\/p>\n<p>But those two states are far from the only ones holding elections Tuesday. Two <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/03\/nina-turner-shontel-brown-ohio-congress-special-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">special elections<\/a> in Ohio will fill vacant congressional seats in Cleveland and outside of Columbus, while voters in New York City will elect their next mayor, who is likely to be former police officer <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/06\/eric-adams-kathryn-garcia-new-york-city-mayoral-race-absentee-ballots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Adams<\/a>.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/07\/eric-adams-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-defund-the-police-jamaal-bowman-kathryn-garcoa-new-york-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Eric Adams Outran Prominent Progressives In Their Own Congressional Districts)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7220952\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"33\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7220952\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eric Adams speaks after voting in the New York City primary in July. Santiago\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Voters in parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressherald.com\/2021\/10\/05\/energy-companies-spend-millions-more-in-battle-over-powerline-corridor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maine<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/coloradosun.com\/2021\/05\/27\/bedrooms-are-for-people-housing-occupancy-limits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colorado<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tucson.com\/news\/government-and-politics\/voters-to-decide-if-tucson-will-be-second-arizona-city-to-enact-15-minimum-wage\/article_c5d9e27c-eb50-11eb-94a7-9bb4e7c8012a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona<\/a> will decide on measures including a higher minimum wage, housing and environmental rights, while voters in Pennsylvania will vote on a Republican-held seat on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2021\/10\/26\/2060217\/-Morning-Digest-Pennsylvania-Supreme-Court-race-could-help-Democrats-keep-majority-for-many-years\">state Supreme Court<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Minneapolis, voters will decide whether to adopt a proposal that effectively <a href=\"https:\/\/minnesota.cbslocal.com\/2021\/10\/21\/minneapolis-ballot-guide-controversial-public-safety-ballot-question\/\">ends the city\u2019s police department<\/a>, replacing it with a City Council-controlled Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>There are also dozens of mayoral races in major cities across the country, including Miami, where GOP incumbent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/15\/gop-leaders-covid-relief-plan-joe-biden-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Francis Suarez<\/a> is seeking re-election, Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/23\/socialist-on-track-buffalo-mayor-defeating-democratic-incumbent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buffalo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/19\/surge-violent-crime-progressives-win-big-philadelphia-pittsburgh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pittsburgh<\/a>, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday is also the first Election Day to occur since Republican legislatures in several states, including Georgia, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/06\/ron-desantis-election-laws-elections-2020-florida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Florida<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/07\/greg-abbott-signs-texas-voting-bill-intense-fight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Texas<\/a> passed laws limiting mail-in voting and tightening voter identification requirements.
