It is also worth noting that, unlike the ordinances passed in Texas, the Mason Ordinance does not contain a private right of action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the Mason ordinance, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispatch.com\/story\/news\/2021\/10\/12\/mason-city-council-introduces-abortion-ban-vote-later\/6057805001\/\">provided<\/a> by the <em>Columbus Dispatch<\/em>, the City Council finds \u201chuman life begins at conception,\u201d \u201cabortion is a violent act which purposefully and knowingly terminates an unborn human life,\u201d and \u201cunborn human beings are entitled to the full and equal protection of the laws that prohibit violence against other human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>The ordinance adds \u201cany person who performs or induces an abortion,\u201d other than the pregnant woman, or who \u201caids or abets an abortion\u201d within the Mason city limits will be considered a criminal or felon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany objections were raised concerning the Constitutionality of this ordinance, but those concerns were addressed and Mason, Ohio became the 41st city in the nation to pass an ordinance outlawing abortion within their city limits,\u201d Dickson stated.<\/p>\n<p>A fact sheet sent to Breitbart News by Dickson emphasizes the Mason ordinance outlawing abortion:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p>\u2026 does not go against <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> (1973), <em>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/em> (1992) or any Supreme Court ruling, but works within those rulings and current federal and state laws to go as far as we legally can go to prohibit and restrict abortion access under the confines of the undue burden standard which was set by the United States Supreme Court in <em>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/em> (1992).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.241379310345\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lubbock, Texas, became the largest city in the United States to declare itself a \u201csanctuary city for the unborn,\u201d the 26th in the nation to outlaw abortion. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/L9bH5NpzXW\">https:\/\/t.co\/L9bH5NpzXW<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1389274348335292416?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As has been the case for seven cities in East Texas that passed the ordinance last year, If the city of Mason faces a lawsuit as a result of the adoption of its ordinance, Attorney Jonathan F. Mitchell, the former Texas Solicitor General, is willing to represent the city at no cost to the city and taxpayers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mitchell represented the other cities when they were sued by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and, after three months, the ACLU withdrew its lawsuit, without cost to the cities or the taxpayers, \u201cand abortion remains outlawed in every city which was sued,\u201d the fact sheet noted.<\/p>\n<p>The first sanctuary city to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/06\/14\/texas-town-1st-in-nation-to-ban-abortion-declares-itself-sanctuary-city-for-the-unborn\/\">pass<\/a>&nbsp;the ordinance was Waskom, Texas, in June 2019.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>In August, Dickson, who is also a pastor, told Breitbart News the focus on local communities making decisions for themselves about whether they want the ending of unborn lives occurring in their midst has been a game-changer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor so long, we\u2019ve put our focus at what happens in Austin, Texas, and what happens in Washington DC, as the be all and end all,\u201d he said during a phone interview. \u201cAnd when I really became convinced \u2013 the straw that broke the camel\u2019s back for me was the realization that, if an abortion facility moves to Waskom, Texas, that would not be Austin\u2019s problem, and it wouldn\u2019t be Washington, DC\u2019s problem. It would be Waskom\u2019s problem. And that Waskom had this obligation to do something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cities of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/nazareth-texas-39th-outlaw-abortion\/\">Nazareth<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/news\/texas-city-becomes-40th-sanctuary-city-unborn-nation\/\">Cisco<\/a>, Texas, also became Sanctuary Cities of the Unborn in October.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIn about 2 \u00bd years 40 cities have passed enforceable ordinances outlawing abortion within their city limits,\u201d said Dickson. \u201cIt has been a great year, with 23 of those cities passing ordinances this year alone. V. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/a><\/em>, the Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/23\/mississippi-asks-u-s-supreme-court-overturn-roe-v-wade\/\">may<\/a> overturn its 1973 decision in <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, the millennial pro-life group <a href=\"https:\/\/studentsforlife.org\/2021\/09\/13\/a-post-roe-america-has-never-been-closer\/\">launched<\/a> its <a href=\"https:\/\/studentsforlife.org\/2021\/04\/09\/pro-life-future-campaign-successes-from-march\/\">Campaign for Abortion Free Cities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince the&nbsp;<em>Dobbs<\/em>&nbsp;case was picked up by the Supreme Court, people have been talking a world without&nbsp;<em>Roe<\/em>&nbsp;for the first time with real hope, and Corporate Abortion has been in a frenzy, trying to hold on to their power and profits,\u201d SFLA President Kristan Hawkins said in a statement to Breitbart News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Students for Life was founded as a post-<em>Roe<\/em>&nbsp;organization 15 years ago because we knew this day was coming,\u201d she added. \u201cThe change coming demands the recruiting, equipping and empowering of people all across the country today so that we can help women and their children, born and preborn, right where they are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hawkins said with the Campaign for Abortion Free Cities her organization is providing the help needed at a very local level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are building bridges between women in need and those in their communities who want to help, because in a Post-<em>Roe<\/em>&nbsp;America, we want to protect life from conception to natural death,\u201d she said. \u201cPro-life Americans every day are doing the work of helping mothers and their children, born and preborn, and we want to be sure that everyone knows we want to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dickson said that, although the Biden administration \u201ccommitted to abortion access in every single zip code,\u201d such a reality \u201cis not what the majority of cities in America want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe majority of small-town America sees and understands that for the last 48 years abortion has hurt women and ended the lives of their children, and they want no part of it,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city of Mason, Ohio, became the 41st\u00a0Sanctuary City for the Unborn last week when its city council voted to outlaw abortion within the city\u2019s limits.
