Terry McAuliffe each had their own respective advantages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYoungkin has the enthusiasm, the environment, the history, and perhaps even the issues (given his focus on education and its increasing salience in polling),\u201d they wrote. \u201cMcAuliffe has the state\u2019s Democratic lean in his favor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Like previous elections, Crystal Ball moves races out of the \u201cToss-up\u201d column before the election, but its decision to move it from \u201cLeans Democratic\u201d underscores not only how close the race is, but how Youngkin has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/29\/glenn-youngkin-leads-ties-terry-mcauliffe-polling-trackers-virginias-next-governor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">erased McAuliffe\u2019s lead<\/a> in a state that President Joe Biden won by 10 points just a year ago.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/25\/eight-days-virginias-gubernatorial-race-the-closest-its-been-glenn-youngkin-terry-mcauliffe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: The VA Gov Race Is The Closest It\u2019s Been)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"12.470588235294\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This was a hard call for the Crystal Ball, since it just feels so close \u2014 there are arguments for both candidates.
