The anti-Trump Lincoln Project sent a group of actors to pose as a white supremacists with tiki torches at a Youngkin event in Charlottesville, Virginia. Lincoln project cofounder Stuart Stevens actually defended doing so,\u201d Faulkner continued. \u201cHe said, \u2018That\u2019s how you play hardball.\u2019 But even the McAuliffe campaign had to distance itself from this stinky stunt. Charlie, I didn\u2019t know that desperation had a white shirt and some navy pants. I didn\u2019t know!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd a tiki torch, oh, my goodness,\u201d Hurt added, noting that the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/29\/mcauliffe-denounces-lincoln-project-tiki-torch-youngkin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McAuliffe campaign<\/a> had waited until the photos had circulated for a time before distancing themselves from the hoax. \u201cIn fact the campaign was the first to promote it, trying to get everybody to do stories about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen nasty politics for a long time. I don\u2019t ever remember anything this disgusting.
