Tom Cotton (R-AR) said childless leftists usurping parents\u2019 authority over child-rearing are emblematic of \u201cthe modern left\u201d and its \u201cbureaucratic mindset\u201d on Monday\u2019s edition of SiriusXM\u2019s <em>Breitbart News Daily<\/em> with host Alex Marlow.<\/p>\n<p>He observed how Democrats and the broader left seek to further centralization of control, planning, and power over all aspects of humanity.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201c[Democrats are] a bunch of bureaucratic know-it-alls who are acting in the tradition of Woodrow Wilson \u2014 the original progressive \u2014 who think things should be taken out of politics, quote-unquote, by which they mean out of the hands of the people acting through their democratically-elected representatives,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Cotton highlighted Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers and former president of the United Federation of Teachers, as illustrative of childless left-wing figures seeking control over parents and children in the context of education.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, \u201cIn some cases, [they] don\u2019t even have kids. Randi Weingarten, the head of the American teacher\u2019s Federation \u2014 the biggest teacher\u2019s organization in America \u2014 doesn\u2019t even have children of her own, yet she presumes to dictate to parents about how they should care for their kids, about what they should think about their kids\u2019 own education. It\u2019s just a perfect example of the modern left and their bureaucratic mindset about how they know better than everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Weingarten\u2019s spouse is a Sharon Kleinbaum, a woman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabletmag.com\/sections\/news\/articles\/new-york-firebrand-rabbi\">described<\/a> by Tablet as a \u201cfirebrand rabbi\u201d who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/03\/25\/fashion\/weddings\/a-merger-for-the-rabbi-and-the-labor-leader.html\">heads<\/a> a \u201creconstructionist synagogue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cotton linked education to the gubernatorial race in Virginia between Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe and Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin. He identified unfolding events related to the Loudoun County School Board \u2014 including pushing of \u201ctransgender\u201d ideology and policies on children and a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/radio\/2021\/10\/20\/parents-advocate-loudoun-county-school-board-ignored-allegations-of-sodomy-forced-fellatio-sexual-assault-of-9th-grade-girl\/\">rape<\/a> of a girl by a boy wearing a skirt in a girls\u2019 bathroom \u2014 as a political flashpoint in the battle between parents and bureaucrats.<\/p>\n<p>Cotton predicted, \u201cGlenn Youngkin is going to beat Terry McCauliffe, in no small part&nbsp;because Virginia\u2019s parents trust him \u2014 and trust Republicans \u2014 with education. [Education] is now \u2014 according to recent polls \u2014 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/10\/29\/washington-post-poll-education-no-1-issue-in-virginia-governors-race\/\">most important issue<\/a> to Virginia voters, not surprisingly, when they see school boards covering up rapes and shutting down schools and imposing mask mandates and indoctrinating kids to hate America. \u2026 Glenn Youngkin is soundly beating Terry McAuliffe on the education issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cotton is the inaugural guest for the <em>Breitbart News Daily<\/em> podcast, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/podcasts\/breitbart-news-daily\/\">launched<\/a> on Monday.
