Thirty-six percent want to keep the president at the top of the ticket, and 20 percent are unsure.<\/p>\n<p>A slim plurality of those polled\u201442 percent\u2014also said the Democratic Party is &#8220;the bigger threat&#8221; to democracy. Forty-one percent said the Republican Party, and 8 percent said both parties.<\/p>\n<p>The poll is one of several to find that Biden&#8217;s approval rating is underwater, with 49 percent of respondents saying they disapprove of the president\u2019s performance. Biden&#8217;s <i>FiveThirtyEight<\/i> polling average <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/biden-approval-rating\/?cid=rrpromo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shows<\/a> an even more drastic disapproval rate: Fifty-one percent disapprove of the president, and only 43 percent approve.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to Biden&#8217;s unpopularity with Democrats, 50 percent of Republicans say their party is more likely to win the White House with former president Donald Trump as standard-bearer.<\/p>\n<p>Biden&#8217;s poor poll numbers come as the president faces a <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/us-economy-slows-sharply-in-third-quarter-amid-supply-chain-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stagnating economy<\/a>, increasing inflation, a crisis on the southern border, and <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/progressive-dems-force-delay-of-infrastructure-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pushback<\/a> from his own party&nbsp;on his domestic agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A plurality of Democrats want President Joe Biden to be replaced as their party&#8217;s candidate in the 2024 election, a poll found Monday.
