But&nbsp;Youngkin is on the <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/polls\/governor\/virginia\/?ex_cid=rrpromo\">uptick<\/a>. On November 15, it was McAuliffe with a three percent lead over&nbsp;Youngkin (47.3 percent to 44.4 percent). Youngkin\u2019s overtook McAuliffe on November 28 by 0.1 percent&nbsp;in the polling average.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>With the race within the margin of error, both candidates will look to their base for enthusiasm to turn out and vote.<\/p>\n<p>Youngkin<i>&nbsp;<\/i>seems to have an advantage in enthusiasm.&nbsp;\u201cPolls show Youngkin winning virtually every Trump voter who says he or she is planning to participate next week, but his ability to bring the former president\u2019s base along while keeping Trump at arm\u2019s length is even more impressive than that,\u201d&nbsp;<em>Politico<\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/10\/30\/key-groups-glenn-youngkin-virginia-517777\">wrote<\/a> Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Among those who live in rural Virginia, a red part of the state, Youngkin holds a sizable lead, 61 percent to 33 percent. Specifically, Youngkin\u2019s numbers in rural Virginia far <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1ne6DjNT-3vLGgPHEd-dvFjDF3ouU7Xdyo_p4bpyPSv8\/edit#gid=1890631192\">outdo<\/a> Donald Trump\u2019s numbers in 2020.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.5063829787234\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Democrats are terrified in Virginia as GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin is in a dead heat against Terry McAuliffe in the final days of the campaign. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ABKr6r1Mlw\">https:\/\/t.co\/ABKr6r1Mlw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BreitbartNews\/status\/1453440294381359106?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 27, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Youngkin spent Saturday and Sunday in southwest Virginia, where his itinerary included \u201ca&nbsp;prayer breakfast, a worship service, a barbecue at the home of a powerful state lawmaker, a meet-and-greet in the state\u2019s farthest-flung corner and an evening get-out-the-vote rally in Abingdon,\u201d the Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/elections-richmond-campaigns-virginia-election-2020-484e32f4b802da309f4d8a62325b078b\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During the homestretch push to win a huge upset over McAuliffe, Youngkin called his campaign a movement against big government control. He also predicted the GOP would retake the Virginia House of Delegates, as 100 seats are up for grabs on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-61 Component-p-0-2-52\">\u201cThis is a moment for us to make a statement that big government control is going to lose and liberty and freedom in Virginia are going to win,\u201d he said over the cheering crowd.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Component-root-0-2-61 Component-p-0-2-52\">McAuliffe, meanwhile, spent the weekend in blue northern Virginia and Richmond to inspire his base. During his campaign stop, he told his smaller crowd he will promote corporatism. \u201cI\u2019ve done this job before. I was the most pro-business pro-progressive. I made this state open and welcoming, created a lot of jobs.
