There is no indication the structures were erected in response to being denied a permit.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The image shows a group of horses standing underneath an oversized table and matching chairs in a grassy field. \u201cThis farm owner was denied a council permit to build a horse shelter,\u201d reads text above the image. \u201cFortunately, you don\u2019t need a permit to build a table and chairs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Time Magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100919170300\/http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/potw\/20030620\/10.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">published<\/a> a different photo of the table and chairs in 2003 with a caption indicating that a wood merchant in Germany created them to draw attention to his merchandise. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/09\/02\/fact-check-animals-escape-turtle-back-zoo-hurricane-ida\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Animals Escape From A New Jersey Zoo When Remnants Of Hurricane Ida Passed Through?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree horses try to hide from the rain under an oversized table and chair in a pasture near Doellstaedt, eastern Germany,\u201d reads the image\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100919170300\/http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/potw\/20030620\/10.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">caption<\/a>. \u201cThe huge garden furniture was installed by a local wood merchant to promote his products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The caption of a 2004 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apimages.com\/metadata\/Index\/Associated-Press-International-News-Germany-Fea-\/b097afd8a2e4da11af9f0014c2589dfb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press<\/a> photo showing the furniture identified Jens Braun as the creator and noted that he built the structures as \u201ca protection for his horses.\u201d The caption mentions nothing about any restrictions imposed on him by any government body.<\/p>\n<p>The fact-checking outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/leadstories.com\/hoax-alert\/2021\/10\/fact-check-farm-owner-was-not-denied-a-permit-to-build-a-horse-shelter.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lead Stories<\/a> reached out to Braun\u2019s establishment and talked with Sylvia Braun, who told the outlet the structures were constructed so the business would not have to apply for a horse shelter.
