That\u2019s the heavy weight of the badge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several Democrat-run cities across the country \u2014 from Los Angeles to New York \u2014 cut police funding. The cuts came as riots broke out in cities in the wake of the police involved death of George Floyd.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"video-src-attr\">White House<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As a result of the violence, the homicide rate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/fbi-2020-homicides-up-nearly-30-largest-1-year-jump-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spiked<\/a>&nbsp;29.4%, an increase that marks the largest single-year increase on record since the FBI began tracking the data in the 1960s.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18534554\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/GettyImages-1215994930-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18534554\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/GettyImages-1215994930-2.jpg\" alt width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>(KEREM YUCEL\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The songs lyrics paint the picture of sacrifice officers face every time they head out for duty:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s gonna be a long one, another graveyard shift, as he says goodbye to his wife and kids. He spent his life just like his dad\u2019s, driving away, under the weight of the badge.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The tune pays tribute to police officers and those who \u201cswore that oath to protect and serve,\u201d&nbsp;and displays a montage of various images and videos featuring police officers and firefighters, as well as their families.<\/p>\n<p>The video also includes interviews with family members of police officers, one who admits that she holds onto her husband \u201cfor an extra couple of seconds\u201d whenever he leaves for work, because she knows that anything is \u201ca possibility\u201d while on the job.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017, George Strait <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/border\/2017\/10\/19\/george-strait-texas-cop-team-comfort-dying-girl\/\">teamed up<\/a> with a police officer to&nbsp;comfort a dying girl in West Texas.
