Of the 49 percent who said they will \u201cdefinitely\u201d or \u201cprobably\u201d vote for Youngkin, 46 percent said they \u201cdefinitely\u201d will vote for the Republican, whereas 39 percent said they will \u201cdefinitely\u201d vote for McAuliffe. Fifty percent said they trust Youngkin to handle education as governor, compared to 44 percent who said the same for the Democrat.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Youngkin edges out McAuliffe in trust on the coronavirus pandemic, 47 percent to 46 percent.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Overall, 88 percent said they are either \u201cextremely\u201d or \u201cvery\u201d motivated to vote in the gubernatorial race.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The survey follows the recent trends of the race tightening in the final stretch, giving Youngkin a slight edge days before Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s RealClearPolitics average <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/epolls\/2021\/governor\/va\/virginia_governor_youngkin_vs_mcauliffe-7373.html\">showed<\/a> Youngkin leading McAuliffe by 0.6 percent.<\/p>\n<p>However, speaking to <em>Breitbart News Saturday<\/em>, Youngkin made it clear that \u201cpolls don\u2019t win elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVotes do,\u201d he said, noting the \u201cenormous\u201d amount of enthusiasm he has witnessed in the final stretch of the race and ultimately predicting a victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why Terry McAuliffe is panicking,\u201d he said, speaking of the unity he is seeing across the board and describing his Democrat opponent as the \u201cGodfather of [the] modern day progressive Democratic Party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he\u2019s seeing it all fail.
