In the first half of 2021 alone, the American Association of Poison Control Centers reports poison control hotline calls have received an estimated 2,622 calls for services related to young children ingesting cannabis products. The Connecticut Poison Control Center received 88 calls in 2020 regarding child exposure to edible marijuana, and 58 calls in the first seven months of 2021.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, New York Attorney General Letitia James noted the cannabis edibles were reportedly \u201cdeceptively designed\u201d to look like regular treats.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>However, they could contain high levels of cannabis and&nbsp;tetrahydrocannabinol, also called THC, which is the primary compound in marijuana.<\/p>\n<p>In a social media post on Tuesday, James <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewYorkStateAG\/status\/1453036936260694018\">shared<\/a> a photo of what appeared to be the products in question.<\/p>\n<p>One bag\u2019s label read Stoney Patch, and another was called Double Stuf Stoneo:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.7022471910112\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New York parents should be on the alert for deceptive cannabis products that look like standard snacks and candy but contain dangerously high concentrations of THC.&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>Any New Yorker that has encountered these products should contact my office immediately:&nbsp;<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br \/>1-800-771-7755 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dU0Xd2RtNQ\">pic.twitter.com\/dU0Xd2RtNQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NY AG James (@NewYorkStateAG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewYorkStateAG\/status\/1453036936260694018?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The CBS report continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"11\">\n<p>Connecticut, New York and Illinois have legalized the adult recreational use of certain amounts of cannabis. Under Connecticut law, cannabis products cannot be sold under a brand name that is identical to or similar to an existing non-cannabis product.
